Fabinho is undroppable
Gini has done enough to stay in the team, imo.

Henderson was instrumental in winning #6. But what do you think, who should start against Spurs?

I think Wijnaldum offer more to the team. To me he seem to have better relations (playingwise) with the players around him and he is more capable of keep possesion while we take risk and try to break down teams. He is also, for me, better at winning the ball back. And of course he is capable of a few more goals.

Hendo tends to slow us more down, and looking for less risk when he try to keep possesion. He is also, in my opinion, less capable of tackling/winning the ball back.

What has Wijnaldum done what Henderson hasn't?
He has been more threatening while also providing more solidity defensively to my eye. His superior technique is always a factor. It also feels like Gini hasn't had the license to release defensive responsibility as much as Henderson. So, the lack of goal contribution is less alarming to me with the wins. Feel free to start a poll with only Fabinho as a given... I'd prefer to see the answer to this question.

Also Gini is one of the mentality monsters Klopp talks about.

I also think that Klopp is not afraid of dropping Hendo. He has not gone out in the market and bought Hendo, and he would not have aquired him if he wasn't here upon his arrival. Hendo is not the ultimate Klopp player. So for screaming out for Ox and Keita it is clear that Klopp want to use them more. He brought them in as they fit his style of play. Fabinho the same, and he has learned the play and is now undroppable.

What has Wijnaldum done what Henderson hasn't?

It's not a silly question. I don't think either of them have been consistently good enough this season (so far anyway), they've both had a few utter shockers, most recently Henderson against United, but Wijnaldum has had a few fucking dreadful games too.

Klopp forked out big money on Ox and Naby, they've been here some time now to bed in....they need to know they have managers' trust in them.

Hendo has been here 10 years almost, we know what he's about....he's had hit ups and downs at the club and personally feel he's served his time here and
now would be a good time to cash in and move him on.

They need to earn it, not know it, Nerrrrmial.

Henderson gives us heart, grit, off the ball movement to create space, relentless running and leadership.

Last year, against Southampton when we were getting dominated in the centre of the park, he and Milner came on and turned the game. To be honest, I feel like that's the sort of role he should have in the team. Games where we can't outplay a team with the likes of Ox/Keita and Gini, then just bring on the captain and vice-captain, and let them run the legs off the opposition in the last 20-30 mins.

Agreed. And we also shouldn't be afraid to reward players who put in good performances with starts over incumbents just because "that team has won 17 of the last 18".

Biggest benefit with Ox, Keita and Lallana back is that we actually have plenty of competition and options from the bench. That alone gave us a nice 4 goal win against Barca last season.

@Insignificance - It appears the poll would suggest otherwise whether they've earned their place or not?

The poll suggest otherwise? Otherwise what?

I am cool with people being eager to see Keita and Ox get going. I voted Keita myself as I have real high hope for him. I would anyway vote for Klopp if it was a poll asking who should select the team in the weekend, Klopp or random fans at a forum?

And the poll stretches further than the weekend I assume? Will we meet different teams and maybe need different qualities going forward?

A poll asking you to nominate 4 midfielders to use the rest of the season, and you can only choose from those 4 injured, suspended or not. Would every man and his dog included 2 or 3 of Ox, Keita and Lallana then?

I want to know who people want to see play the most right now. We have a squad for a reason and Klopp is starting to use it very nicely, he is to be trusted more than me for sure. But the midfield is where we have depth anyway so the only place this conversation can be had.

Sorry the poll is for a question I have. I'd never drop Gini at this stage.

Which is more or less the scenario we want, not this ultra fucking myopic nonsense about who are the preferred three, they will all play and will all show their importance and the need to be rested throughout the season. As always.

The amount of times someone starts a thread like this, when a returning player has a good game, is nauseatingly fucking tedious.

I just want to see us try something new.
Also, just give Ox or Keita a chance to play with the regulars. That's all.

Is this the annual Henderson is shit thread..??

Yawn..

Only to realise he is actually underappreciated, and a lot better than everyone makes him out to be..

The guy needs a rest. He will be back to his best before you know it..
Who else gets these types of threads though? It's gotta mean something right?

He was better at the tail end of last season. However this season he is back to the Hendo with no threat whatsoever. Has his position changed again?

He doesn't create, he doesn't shoot, he runs around alot and puts in an occasional cross. Not good enough imo for a midfielder playing for a top team.

Much has been said about our midfielders offering little goals. Hendo has been a big part of that problem. Each of Keita, Ox, Gini offers more of a goal threat. Even Lallana seems rejuvenated after the scums match.

Hendo should be very worried about his spot in the team.

I went with Hendo. At his best Hendo contributes a lot with his running and leadership.

But for me it comes down to options for subs. Hendo off the bench won't often be the one to change a match. Chamberlin has been and can be that player. Keita hasn't shown it but I think he could be too.

I'd rather start Hendo and sub in the others as needed.
