Gutted for him, I really am....

I really hope for him, that error has not set our fate....

And why always against Chelsea ?

Football can be cruel sometimes..

He will really need some picking up, Dr Peters will have a full schedule this week I think. Real shame as he might never have a better chance.

I am devastated for him. You saw how desperate he was as he camped on their area waiting for long shots. Not his job nowadays.

I really am hurting, can't think of anything else. Right grump as well

Yep, I nearly threw up when he slipped. Was devastating to watch. I'm gutted because that huddle after the City game was sincere and spontaneous and not contrived in any way but it will be used against him/us now for years to come. "We Don't Let This Slip Now".

I've seen him react to other player's mistakes with an icy glare and a disgusted shake of the head. Hopefully he got something better. It's about time Craig Johnston devised a new boot that actually lets players stay on their feet. I guess it's blades that are to blame but this season seems to have seen a record number of players slip over as if they're on ice. The idiots are so money-obsessed they'd probably wear pink meringues on their feet if the sponsorship deal was good enough.

To be honest it wasn't the slip that cost him it was the bad control. Even without slip he may not have caught Ba

Lads I've a confession, I backed him for MOTM in the bookies 'n all. I don't believe in jinxing or any of that crap though. He was bossing the game early doors before the unfortunate slip.

He would have poked it away from Ba. The slip cost him getting there.

After the mistake he was all over the place, playing with all the discipline and composure of a twenty-year old, back to his Beckham-style worst. No help at all, just when the team needed a cool head. It was like in the derby game when Benitez took him off, except this time he was left on.

You could look at it like that or say he had to as nobody else was taking charge. Where were Suarez and Sturridge at the end.

Sturridge looked like he couldn't move never mind run. One of his only touches was backward to allow Chelsea score their second goal. I hope he is fit for Palace.

It feels like we often sabotage ourselves in this fashion.

There is nothing to say really. Nothing to analyze. It's just shit.

If we don't win the title, this game will haunt us all for many years to come.

That doesn't make sense. Brendan would not have bought him on if he couldn't run, twist and turn in training.

God knows why he was so bad.

Dunno, I'm not at training. He didn't look to able to move freely is all. He touched the ball three times in about 30 mins. He was probably only half fit but we needed to something to try salvage the game.

Then we don't have a team worthy of winning the title. It's either full of players who can take the initiative and pull their weight or it isn't. People can't have it both ways.

I think it's too thin to have a realistic shot at winning it.

It's that good enough that, with a bit of luck with injuries (we've had them but they've usually fallen across positions so we have cover) , damn good tactics & determination that we can be in with a long shot though.

Which is exactly why we are where we are.

A draw yesterday and we were heavy favourites to win it. He had a realistic shot at winning it. I think we should have won it. I suppose that's why it's so gut wrenching.

I certainly thought we'd gone beyond the one man team idea, but there he was again yesterday, galumphing around all over the place and to hell with maintaining the team's shape. It was like watching a mouse run up to a cat shouting 'Hiya! Hiya!'

Yup. The slip changed the course of the game and we'll never know how it would've panned out if that hadn't have happened. They didn't look like scoring. A draw would've been okay.

When he made that mistake I said he was the worst person to make it cos there was a real danger he'd come out & try all match to make up for it, when we really needed cool heads.

I'm sad I was right.

Devastated for him. Really think this game could haunt us and tbh - I am worried whether we'll be able to pick ourselves up for Palace. The only way that would happen is if City drop points.

One man to blame anyway - Mannone!
