Milner at right back is lol, yeah he might be able to do a job there but you dont want to be going into a WC having to play him there, Hodgson should have put Clyne or Flanno in the squad if he doesn't trust Jones or Smalling to cover at right back.

Have a feeling that will be one of the big stories next season, cant see it working out at all.

It's hard to tell. I didn't think Moyes and Rooney would be able to work together again, but in the end that doesn't seem to have been a particular problem, though they had plenty of others to deal with there. Here's hoping though.

Van Persie is Van Gaals boy though isnt he, likely to be made captain and being the main man up front, that will cause grief alone, with their other attacking options Rooney could well be looking at a fair bit of bench time next season, it could well be a similar situation to what the England team is now - basically the team being better off without him/trying to accomodate him.

How small (pun not intended) must Chris Smalling feel at the moment? Brought along as the backup right back and or 4th choice center half and now he is being looked over at right back in favor of Milner.

Van Gaal usually plays 4-3-3 so no room for two strikers up top. He likes strict adherence to his system as well. System before players.

Yep, it just looks like trouble waiting to happen, no Europe either so less game time also, hopefully they fall behind the pace again early on and it implodes for them, wishful thinking but lets hope so, hard to see that anything will ever come close to last season with them.

Rooney had better get used to this left wing position he's playing tonight, as teachers pet will be up top next season.
Saying that, for 300k near the end of his career he probably doesn't give two fucks. He's already made two half arsed attempts to leave them, he doesn't bothered about *anything*. Apart from old ladies of course.

Moyes became Rooney's bitch didn't he?

That was the 'problem'

Foster, Milner, Shaw, Jones, Smalling, Lampard, Wilshere, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Barkley, Rooney, Lambert.

No Sterling.

Great. Was gonna watch it.

Just mentioned it in the other thread, Sterling is the only player along with Forster that hasn't had a start in the 2 warm up games, load of crap.

Dutch look like they are playing a 4-4-2 diamond tonight against Wales. Hope for Rooney still.

[article=The Guardian]In lieu of hot Ecuadorian chat, a little bit about the weather: It's cloudy. Dark clouds. The stadium, meanwhile, which holds 75,540 paying punters on a good day, is expected to be roughly a quarter full. Sporting fever sweeping the States, with the US Open golf World Cup just over a week away.[/article]

Lol just lol at The Guardian slating people in Miami for not attending a world cup friendly between Engurland and Ecuador.

brb taking off time from work to go to a meaningless friendly between two foreign nations at 3:00 in the afternoon on a Wednesday.

And on top of it all Miami has some of the most fickle and pathetic sports fans of anyone in the country.

He's protecting him I think - or he's an idiot. Not sure.

Hopefully the former.

England surely have to start him in the WC, anyone with any sense that watched Sterling last season knows what an asset he is, a lot of his best play often came early on as well, not coming off the bench with fuck all time left to do anything, screw that archaic type of thinking, Sterling should be one of the first names on the team sheet.

From The Guardian live blog:

[article=The Guardian]5 min: It's all England right now. Ecuador have hardly touched the thing. France, Switzerland and Honduras, Ecuador's Group E opponents, can simmer down.[/article]

Three minutes later...

[article=The Guardian]GOAL!!! England 0-1 Ecuador (Enner Valencia 8)

This goal is brilliant, and as English as they come. Ayovi makes a bit of space for himself down the left, and whips a ball into the area. On the penalty spot, it's Enner Valencia, who thumps a header into the top-left corner. That's a stunning header! Foster stands around spinning for a while. When he stops, he looks confused. Either that, or dizzy. Possibly both.

Smalling is lucky to be 4th choice centre back! Wilshere is like a 12 year old out there, all too easily brushed off the ball. Barkley staking his claim for a starting place the most.
