Lets not forget that Bale, who was bought as a left back but dropped because he was a defensive liability, has proven to be a revelation at LW.
All of these people saying Glen cant play RW, but I'd bet that there were numerous Spurs fans who thought Bale was a waste of money and wouldnt be able to do it.
The only way we'll know for sure is if he's given a chance. He has pace, skill, can take people on and has a good shot. All the raw ingredients for a top attacking midfielder

Nah..everybody looks at the record that Spurs did not win a game for quite a number of games when Bale started and say he was defensively liability.
It's very dubious to put the blame for the failings of a team on one 20 year old.
I bet there were many who thought Bale was a very very good player at the beginning of last season when he was not setting the house on fire.
He was energetic and ran up and down all day.
He was brilliant with set pieces even at that early stage.
He had a good touch and dribbling ability.
That has not changed. He did reasonably well at Left Back for spurs. He was not an abject failure at any rate. Even then there was a hint that he could excel if played further up field.
If Glen Johnson plays RM or Right wing and does well, then you have to be sorry for him as it would mean people mismanaged his career for 8 years at Chelsea, Portsmouth and Liverpool. I'm not saying that couldn't have happened. There is no harm in trying him there for 30 mins at that position in a few games and then longer trials if he does well. He did fairly well in that position for Portsmouth.
