Lovren & Skrtel are best suited to playing Benteke. Agbonhalor got injured today and he usually reserves one of his few decent games for us. Sanchez sent off but he is shit anyway.
We need to find some form and goals v Newcastle to take us into the semi, Villa are no pushovers at the moment.
Sanchez was good today so it's good he's out of next week. Agbonlahor out too is a very nice bonus as his pace bothered us earlier this season. I think Grealish went off injured too.
Agree about Skrtel. Not so sure about Lovren (I'd have been happier with a fit Sakho who, I suspect, might handle Benteke's strength better) but Lovren did at least step up to the mark against Blackburn, so let's hope for the best.

Not in the past, no. Last season was bad because he had that Archilles tendon rupture. Other than that, injuries have been cited (source: transfermarkt) for about 5 league games in 3 seasons in the league (knee, groin). Remains to be seen if the Archilles injury might be a recurring problem in the seasons ahead, but he wasn't injury-prone prior to it. He actually hasn't missed too many league games besides the major spell out from the rupture and a 3-game suspension for a red card.

We could do a lot worse, but we've already seen the problem of having strikers who do not fit this system first hand this season. Getting a better version of the wrong player isn't going to solve anything, and before anyone says, 'well, change the system', we've also seen that Rodgers is unable to adjust his tactics to allow for a physical CF.

Benteke has good pace, movement and feet for a big target man. It's still the wrong the sort of striker for us. We need a 22 year old Carlos Tevez. I don't know who that is, but a player of that type.

As impressive as Benteke was, I think the way we played, and our defensive 'organisation' made him look like a world beater.

Even a mediocre side like Villa took about 5 minutes to see and rape the enormous gap down our inside right, culminating in the goal. Which Villa scored from taking a throw in and a couple of flick on's/

Despite how unrealistic this is, there's a slight issue with going to two up front, selling four strikers and only buying two.
In most cases, getting 2 out of 3 would be quite a good result.
He hasn't. He's said Ings and Milner are prime targets, we want Memphis and that benteke could be an option.
