Carroll- career over?

Particularly after that, you insensitive prick.

Look on the bright side, you won't suffer from cold feet this winter and now longer will you have the discomfort of a flooded shoe after accidentally stepping into a puddle.

I think he'd be more worried about his vicuna socks if he stepped in a puddle.

Are they going to put him out to stud or turn him into lasagne?

I'm not really, honest.

I just don't see many positive in a 15-20M (whatever it was) loss on a player.

The thing is, it was done, we can't turn the clock back. If BR had decided to give him a chance however, instead of getting him to fuck, then what was already a horrible deal, would become infinitely more wretched. As it is, his sale paid for Sturridge. Every cloud...

Yeah, I've moved on.

Aren't these massive shitheads insured? I mean we might have got the full 35m back if he'd have stayed and ended his career.

That's true, but I doubt he'd have ended his career on the obscene wages we were paying him, as I doubt he'll do not, even on the slightly less obscene wages he's on.

It's one of the few jobs in the world you can be on a contract basis yet have a year or longer off sick on full pay. Why kill he golden goose?

From David Gold:

@davidgold: I spoke to Andy C yesterday, he looked fit and strong and is desperate to rejoin the first team squad. Hopefully this will happen soon. dg

I'll keep my eye on Globelink News TV.

*wonders if anyone will get this*
Superb show that was, I'd love to see some repeats but obviously, as a topical news show, it won't have aged that well. I'm gonna google "Joy" (I think her name was summat like Suzanne Doyle) to see what she looks like now; she was uber fit in the show.

At least someone got it.

For those that didn't, it was a reference to 'drop the dead donkey' a TV show/satirical news show, which seemed apt for the title!

[article=http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/andy-carroll-west-ham-david-2925115#ixzz2nRtRno12 ]West Ham co-owner David Sullivan admits he would not have splashed out £15million on Andy Carroll if he had known he would be so injury plagued.

The striker has not played for the Hammers since making his loan move from Liverpool permanent in the summer.

The 24-year-old is currently on the sidelines recovering from a fractured right foot and is still a few weeks away from returning.

"Had we known he would be out for this long, we would not have signed him," Sullivan told the BBC's Football Focus.

"We are not a rich enough club to deal with that. You know any player can get injured, but we can't buy a player knowing he is going to be out for half the season.

"When we signed him we were assured by the medical staff that the very, very latest he would be back was 1 September. That would have meant he would only miss two league games."

West ham have lost four out of the last five league games and are in desperate need of a regular scorer as they slip closer to the relegation zone.

However, Sullivan is hopeful that his opinion will change come the end of the season.

"If you ask me the same question at the end of the season, I hope I will be able give you a different answer and say yes, it was the right decision to sign Andy Carroll," he added.

"He is a fantastic player and on his day he is unplayable. We love him and that is why we signed him. He is desperate to come back; he is sweating blood in training."

With Carroll watching on from the sidelines again, Sam Allardyce's men face Sunderland today, and a loss could leave them in the bottom three.[/article]
