Some stuff on Twitter that his career could be over.
Wasnt good enough for us, but you have to feel for the lad.

Hope he can come back from this injury.

Shit news if true for the lad, no matter his attitude or issues.

Plenty of players have had similar issues & come through them.

Tbf Ross, I think it's easy enough to argue that a footballer uses their feet a lot more than a baseball player.

You could, but they play 162 games a season.

Lots of NBA players deal with the problem - and play 82 games a season doing a lot more work with their feet than Andy Carroll.

I can guarantee you won't find another athlete to have retired at age 24because of Plantar fascitis. Because it's manageable and treatable if you've got any mental strength and professionalism.

Is Plantar fascitis the only injury you can have to your plantar fascia? From what I've just read, there is no mention of fascitis for Andy, so it's possible that it's not exactly that that he's sufferring from.

I'm sure you're right though.

Could this be linked to the way he lands after a jump? You know, the problem that the Newcastle coaching staff seemed to have spotted but done nothing about.

Its coming from the West Ham end and they fear he's done.

Lets hope for his sake that its as Ross says and he can continue playing with the right training.

I wonder whether it's been known all along.

Newcastle leaving the move til the last minute was regarded as posturing for cash.

Maybe it was to rush the medical?

On the plus side, we did some great business selling him.

That's what I was thinking.

Used car dealers up and down the country are reading this story and remembering the time they sold a clapped out fiesta to some unwitting punter who didn't know it was ready for the scrap yard.

This won't end well for him or his family if he does retire this early.
He will piss his fortune up a wall and end up homeless in 10 years.

New gazza, except without the footballing ability and decent career

We got konchesky from Fulham. Didn't we? Unless were talking old school developmental stuff

An injury might be the best case scenario for West Ham, as he may be covered by their insurance.

Whilst we can never forget that Newcastle raped us on the Caroll deal, at least we can console ourselves with the knowledge that we bought Sturridge for less than we charged West Ham for Caroll.

I've had it before, and it normally goes in weeks. Physio usually tells you RICE, and a tennis ball. You're to sit there all day, rolling the ball in and around the arch of your foot with as much weight as you can bear, and it will massage the area and stretch the band.

Those of you sending him your best wishes, believe me it's not life threatening, it's hardly even painful, just a bit of an irritation, and he's also a millionaire, so he'll be alright I reckon.

I know people that have ran marathons with it.
