Talksport going on as if the deal has been done.

According to sources deal is at an advanced stage.

Which deal? Cole? Babel? Both?

I'd rather we sign him than finish the window without bringing in a striker, not overawed or excited in any way though.

It seems like we will bring in a striker, no matter what he has to offer. Doesnt sound good to me. If we havent identified who we want until late afternoon the day the window closes we probably dont want them.

Talksport reporting that the Cole deal fell through because West Ham didn't have time to find a replacement. You'd have thought those cunts Gold and Sullivan would have prepared for the scenario if they were willing to accept an offer.

I'd rather be buying Zarate as Spurs reportedly are (25m euro!)
[/quote]

I REALLY wanted Zarate when he left his Arabic team but since we moved to Lazio he has been wanker than Babel in a rap off..

It was all a smoke screen.

Roy didn't really want him, he just wanted to upset one of our 'rivals' most dangerous players.

He'll be crap now all season wishing he was at Anfield, thus making sure West Ham finish below us and we stay out of the bottom 3!

Cole hasn't been a regular starter for Grant this season and Hodgson admits the England international is a player he watched before the close of the last transfer window.

However, despite keeping an eye on the forward, Hodgson claims no offer was ever made for the player.

He added: "Cole is a good player and was one of the players I was watching and we were looking at a lot of forwards.

"He was one I watched and we talked about but we didn't make any particular move for him.

"At Liverpool we are always linked with every player but I do like Carlton Cole and think he's a good player but there was no offer made for him."

I actually feel sorry for the kids who's already got 'Cole' on their jerseys and wondering if they can squeeze a 'J' onto it.

nobody got my joke ?

I felt sorry for him at the weeknd. Some of the worst supply and support i've ever seen, and then he gets dragged.

He looked furious too.

saying on the radio that it is a cert that he is coming to us in jan for around £8 million.

He scored some great goals tonight against the mancs, could be worse I suppose.

It is like a crouch/bellers/keane deal again, PL experience and hope they step up for us.

anyone happy (ish)

No. But they say a lot of things in radio and papers so I won't be disappointed yet either.

He has just scored his 50th career goal in 9 seasons. No fucking thanks. Even Deadly gets more than him.........

It couldn't be worse. He's fucking useless for 3 months then has one good game and people notice him again. It's always the same with this bobo. If we sign him I will give up. New owners and director of football is meant to be putting a stop to retrograde signings like this, dragging us to mid table obscurity.

Nope.

He's barely better than N'Gog.

What a shit post.

I can't think of anyone better equipped than you dreamy to understand what has to go into the construction of a "shit post".

He may have scored 2 goals against a half arsed UTD backline, but hell no should we be going in for him...especially if it's for the price being bandied around (8m/9m?).
We don't have the luxury of spending that amount of money and hoping that because he has PL experience, maybe he can step up for us.
Fuck that...50 in 9 seasons says everything.

Besides, if he is to go on a good/better run of form, surely West Ham's valuation of him will increase? Hopefully that'll price us out, should we indeed be interested 'again'.

I'm beginning to think any striker is better than our options at the minute. At least he'll be an aerial threat
