The other night was the first time Carlton Cole has scored twice in a professional match, that stat alone is reason enough not to sign him.

He's been playing top flight football for years, can play up front on his own, and is excellant in the air.

I'm not saying he is a world beater but to say he's barely better than a raw French kid is rubbish.

Cole would be a massive improvement on N'Gog.

I think N'gog is the better player between them also so.... horses for courses.

I do not want us to utterly waste money on a player who will not ever improve us.

It's all relative. I've gottne most things right in the last few years.

And let me repeat I don't want Carlton Cole but he is much better currently than n'gog.

Granted, it's funnier to watch him slip up than it used to be, simply because he's now a dim person who think he's clever. But the odd monumental fail thread aside, it's pretty tiresome.

Avram Grant wants to keeps Carlton Cole but is uncertain if he will still be at West Ham when the January transfer window closes.

Cole has been linked with a £10million move to Liverpool, while Tottenham and Stoke are also reported to be interested in the England marksman.

The financially-stricken Hammers are sure to cash in on their most bankable name and Grant admits the 27-year-old's Upton Park future is in doubt.

'We want him to be here but you never know what will happen in football. We want to keep this squad,' he said. 'I don't like the January transfer window because it's not easy to bring players in and we don't want to lose players. We want to keep the same squad for all the season.'

The Hammers chief revealed for the first time the club turned down a “substantial offer†– ­believed to be £10million – from Liverpool for striker Cole (below) during the last transfer window and a similar amount from Spurs for Parker.

Grant told the Daily Star Sunday: “We kept our nerve. This club is £110million in debt and everyone knows we are desperate for money.

“It wasn’t because we could not find a replacement Carlton – but it showed what we think of him. Scotty too.â€

The Upton Park top brass know Liverpool and Spurs will try again in January but Grant is confident the new board will stay firm.

“We all want the best for West Ham. They showed it once. I am confident they will do it agan.â€

Hmm Keane, calling 2nd place and exactly how's we'd run in the first month of the season we finished 2nd. Last season too.

In fact prob the only thing I've gotten wrong of late is Hodgen not having us in the top 4 at the moment.

Not much has changed so. I almost won my 2nd Vic state final 2 weeks ago since moving here but fell just short.

Perhaps one day I won't be seen as mental or stupid.

One can only hope.

Correctly thinking Keane wouldnt work out when every Irishman on this place thought the same isnt really impressive either.

It's hard to say West Ham completely deserve to be back on level terms here, but credit Carlton Cole with a good finish there - he was given half a sniff and he grabbed his chance with both hands. That's five goals in his last five starts against Fulham.

Fucking hell Roy, get your head out your arse and quit using blips as transfer policy.
 
It does seem to happen quite a lot.

I liked it when we bought Michael Thomas for winning the league against us, only for it to be served as a kind of punishment from the bench.
