You know when he said that they've invested 128m ?

That doesn't mean they spent 128m on transfers.
He's probably included his expenses in that figure.

I know that I'm gonna regret this but...

What with how much it would cost us to terminate his contract today, if you got your wish, who exactly could realisticly replace him, and what exactly could they do with this exact same squad of players, as we'd have precisely zero pounds available to strengthen the squad over the next season or two.

Also, wouldn't you fear that at least one or two of the top lads would be off to pastures new, especially if they're Rafa's signings? If we lost Torres or Pepe or Mascher or even Steven, we'd be back to the bloody Souness days.

Have you given this ANY thought at all?

I've already asked him this, specifically, but he wouldn't answer, other than saying that by selling our worst players (who he named below), he could fund the two quality purchases he says we need, so let's go with the specifics again:

1) How much money you think we'd make selling Babel, Riera, Voronin, Dossena, and El Zhar
2) How that amount of money would buy two quality players, given that the rest (if there was any that year) has been spent saying goodbye to rafa and his staff
3) How this won't leave us thin at LW/forward
4) Who would be the available top class managers who could reasonably be expected to improve on Rafa, by being reasonably expected to win the league in short order.
5) Why these managers would want the job knowing that if you achieve your best success in the league, and the best the team has done for years, you won't have any significant transfer budget the following summer, but will be sacked if you don't win the thing?
6) How it won't be a significant deterrent that the club doesn't really have a sustainable business model without investment, and the two current owners pursuing investment don't appear to talk to one another?

It's awfully quiet around here.

CAN THE LAST PERSON TO LEAVE PLEASE TURN OFF THE LIGHTS AND LOCK THE DOOR.

Haha! Hi children!!! Sorry to disappoint the forum owners for the low ratings the forum had since I’ve been away. When Glock takes a mini-vacation this place becomes dry…

For your information I’ve been away to Pyongyang which you know a shit hole, no phones, no internet and no other fucking communication device allowed. Business. Came back a couple of weeks ago and sort things out here and now here I am…behave children, your S** King of 6CM is back. Kneel down.

Listen boys and girls, I’ve watched all videos of our games this season and feel disappointed, really disappointed because I thought this season could be it. But 3 losses out of 8 games so far and Rafael still out with a message “Relax, stay calm it’s still early in the season, focus next game blah blah…†shit. Fucking hell!

He was given all the money and here we are, 3 losses in 8 games. Sitting comfortably in 6th place. As I said, this season is his last season and he agrees with me. He said this last Sunday when we meet over a dinner at my place. This season is his last season with us and he said he will try his best to make it happen (win the league) but he has a feeling we won’t. So that is it.

Even if we win the league this season I would want him to go. That’s what I think. Get Capello in after the World Cup.
okay, I'll bite...

if rafa is pushed rather than walks it will cost the club millions which in all likelihood have an impact on the forthcoming transfer budget. so with no money how exactly would capello squeeze more out of the team than rafa?

I'll go on to say what exactly is people complaint with rafa now?
rotation? he hardly does that anymore.
gerrard out of position? gerrard has never been more profilic than under rafa?
people out of position? like who?

get some perspective and calm the fuck down, we've lost three game and won the rest. we are not even 10 games into the season.
I am calm spider boy. You relax yourself before post anything on my thread.

Why the fuck do we need to wait anymore longer when clearly Rafael isn't capable of winning us the league in 6 years he's been here? I have supported him for 6 years and i now feel very disappointed to a poor start in a season which we should be winning. He has given it all. He can't do it in this league anymore. Let him go to Seria A or something.

If the Yanks want him out they wouldn't care about the money. Its as simple as that.

Its not a rotation problem anymore. It is now the defence. We are letting in goals for fun. He should sort that for now. Drop Skrtel and play the Greek or Agger if he's fit. Start Benayoun ahead of Reira who has been poor so far. Plus he signed an injury prone Italian midfielder. He should've signed Defour last summer.

I can't see we retain the 3 losses we had, we will lose more. Its still a long season. Injury to Torres and Gerrard, we're fucked.

we cannot afford to sack Rafa - FACT

Capello would do a better job IMO - FACT???

Rafa is a good manager but continues to make strange decisions, setup his team as a cup team and not make the most of the tools in his armoury.

I am happy to give Rafa this season and maybe next but Capello as an option is very appealing.

He would cost a fortune though if we get to at least the semis in the world cup.

Come on RAFA pull your socks up and show us your worth
I am not telling to sack him now, he should go at the end of the season.

Capello has never been cheap, if we want quality we pay more. Capello will win us the league. He has done that in every league he went in. Fact.

how can you say rafa isn't capable of winning the league when just LAST SEASON we were only four points off the winners? as for us being fucked without gerrard and torres, the two main attackers you mention were out for large chunks of the season and we coped pretty well, in fact torres was missing for the last chelsea away game and we won that.

Glock's gone mental, Neil. Or rather, he's gone from mental to a whole different kind of mental. But he's barking. Absolutely ga-ga. Off his chump.

to be honest I can understand fans being twitchy about rafa after losing 3 of the first 8 games. I personally am not there yet because our tally of last is a little misleading, sure we only lost twice but we drew 12 times, there is plenty of room for improvement. the 'no room for error' is misleading as well, as long as we don't allow the gap to grow large than 6 points, the top teams play each other and we also play them at home.

Actually I thought last year was a bit of an aberration; Chelsea couldn't decide on a manager and the mancs really took their time getting themselves into any kind of form - I felt they were focused on Europe rather than the title last season. I remember the title of one thread after Chelsea drew when they should have won easily and the mancs got beaten; "It's like the title is being handed to us". It was strange - we seemed to throw it away on several occasions and yet we were still in with a chance right to the end.

As I've said in a couple of threads over the last week - I've been utterly out of circulation for about three months now but I am stunned by our transfer window. Johnson is a very good RB but the step forward the team needed??? - No way! We sold one of our best players in Alonso after a truly stellar season - and signed a far from proven though very talented player from Serie A. I really did think - with the money we had available - that a big signing on the right or up front was an absolute necessity.

Maybe Rafa has signed the player we needed and he's just been held up by injury to this point but we sold a player who gets goals in this league back to Spurs; we sold an exceptional passer in Alonso and we are, lets be honest, relying on a big season from an unproven talent from Italy who will most likely be playing in Gerrards place behind Torres. For someone who doesn't like to experiment but prefers to be sure, Rafa is taking a huge risk.

On paper I just don't see the big step forward that we all hoped for and, to some extent, expected.

Im very calm. Season is over.
Owners are shite. Rafa fucked up. Last season was the one. Mourinho or Capello would have won it.
Fight for 3rd with Arsenal and City.
Rafa will stay for next season unless he resigns or new owners buy the club.
Capello said he will retire after the england job.
I hope Mourinho will be our next manager.

Not really, he's a good manager but as I said many times he will never bring us the title.
His cautious philosophy is not suited for England. He'd do well in Italy.

Do you really rate Maureen as less cautious than Benitez? He surely wasn't at Chelsea, considering the squad and the options he had.

it shoouldn't be ignored that rafa didn't want to sell alonso, sometimes it is written like rafa forced him out the door to cash in. if alonso wanted to stay at liverpool then he would still be at liverpool. as for his replacement I think we can all agree if he were easy to replace who wouldn't have been bothered about him leaving.

He won the title twice in a row. He's a winner, during games he makes the right substitutions at the right time to grab the win.
Unlike Rafa who's always passive on his bench.
His man-management skills are a lot better than Rafa's.
Mourinho and Capello are the best managers.
They were my first choices when Houiller got sacked.

Winning the title isn't proof of being less cautious, otherwise you might as well say George Graham was devil-may-care. Glen Johnson, for one, would differ about the man management thing. As for his use of subs, well, it depends which matches you choose. He was criticised by some in his last year or so for not making shrewd substitutions. So I still think you're forcing this.
