It will be interesting to see, IF he goes back, how the fans will take to him? Remember that reception he got when he returned there?

Look, I know I said I never wanted to see that disloyal get back in a black and white shirt, but I meant to start a match. We don't need him now to start, but we can use him very nicely as an impact sub coming on at about the 70th minute.

But we usually leave before the 70th minute unless we're winning.

As I said, I never want to see him back in a black and white shirt ever again!

Yep. He'll bang them in again for them, esp against us, & we'll almost certainly find it hard to score again this season.

The media will have a fucking field day.

As long as we're playing well and winning I'm not bothered. He'll have his work cut out to get ahead of Cisse and Ba...

I wouldn't be all that bothered if we kept hold of him. I still think he can do a job away to teams who park the bus. Especially now that we have Assaidi and Sterling coming through. My reason for mentioning them is because Bas Dost (a big gangly striker) scored a lot of goals for Hereenveen last year with Assaidi and Narsingh on the wings. I know he had lots of chances from crosses coming from Downing that he missed but with two pacy wingers pinging in crosses from both flanks, and an eagerness to prove himself, we just might reap the benefits when things aren't going our way.

We will benefit nothing, the whole signing was a bad idea, and only done to please us the fans so that we did not turn up an burn down Anfield because the club decided to sell Torres. Look at how cultured Arsenal are handling the Walcott situation, if they sell him, they will just collect the money and wait for January transfer window if they feel they need to replace him. Don't expect them to spend £35M on an unproven uknown in the PL who is out injured at the moment. When I see him play for us - most of time I wish I had a time machine to go back in time and assassinate Comolli to prevent him from wasting that money away.

Yeah Arsenal are a fucking shining example of how to handle big transfers. Selling your best players near the end of the window two seasons running without having suitable replacements lined up. Every gooner is giving out shite at the moment about how they're conducting their business. Especially over Walcott.

His time here has been abysmal so far, I agree. Prior to that though he looked a very good prospect and I still believe with a bit of nurturing he could do well for us. Forget the transfer fee. All the top clubs around europe have nearly 100 million on the bench at any one time.

Arsenal are not been taken to ransom by these players, and I believe Arsene believes he can get the best out of any player that he sees potential in. Take last season - I think many people thought before Christmas that he was not going to make a CL spot - but he got them playing and they came third.

Now this thing you got on with Carroll - IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN, even more so now because his style is not BR style. Also BR has already quoted that if plan A fails - he will make necessary changes so that plan A CAN succeed. Everybody's idea of a plan B seems to be sticking a limited tall man up front who stands there waiting for a cross. If thats the case we can tell Skrtel to get up front, or bring on Coates - it will be cheaper than keeping £35M on the bench for those odd moments. Besides, he will screw up anyway as we all know that if he does not play regularly (which he won't) his performances degrade and if that happens for season - someone like Andy Carroll probably won't be able to play football.

You don't half talk a lot of shite, moron.
peter

when he was not playing last season or making sub appearances - everyone was saying he is a confidence player and needs games - he is not going to get those games anymore and he will degrade as a player.

moron - your arguments are so one-eyed and disproportionately Carroll-hatingly biased that they lose any value. We know you'd like him out - but you've lost all sense of perspective - and a little dignity - on the way.

What is the point you are making Moron? We all know Carroll's purchase was an utter fucking disaster. We all knew it the second it happened and hoped somehow we'd live in the best of all possible worlds, possibly via DeLorean, where he smashed towering header after towering header in. Instead it got a bullshit artist and a club legend sacked.

We want to sell him, but we want to realize as little loss as possible. The second goal hasn't been helped by the transparency of the first goal. Everyone in the football world knows he's available, but they also know we are eager to get rid of him.

At a certain point, regardless of the fact that we are realizing an absurd loss, we have to get whatever we can for him, as we aren't likely to ever get more, especially as he may just get increasingly alienated, and there will just be less time on his contract.

So it's just a matter of finding the right price. As crazy as the loss is, I suspect Newcastle aren't actually miles off. What is least likely to happen in my mind, is Carroll getting enough goals this season to be worth even the 12 million that Newcastle have already offered.

Rodgers words this morning do see to put full light on the Lies of our owners last week about being able to compete financially.

I'm not so sure we've handled Carroll too well to be honest, trying to sell him is one thing making it clear in the press you want rid is silly IMO, refreshingly honest but silly, it read to me as PLEASE buy Carroll! I'm not saying we shouldnt sell but I doubt very much that admitting you are skint and then listing what you want to sell is either going to bring about a higher sale price or a happy player if you dont manage to extract a suitable fee.

As for completing a 12M pound move to Newcastle, they must think we are mad. He is actually worth a lot more than that in the right team and considering they pocketed nearly treble that just 18 months ago they really are taking the piss. Fuck em.

Adam to Stoke for 4 or 5M.... he would do very well there I reckon and would certainly make Stoke even more dangerous.

ive got a bad feeling about this whole saga.

Also, like Molby, I think the club have had a 'mare dealing with Carroll in the media.

so when /if he stays , i gather most fans will be happy enough . I mean he got a pretty decent reception on sunday .

So what do his backers expect from him this season ? Can he force his way into the starting lineup and change Rodgers' opinion of him ? What sort of goal return will he get ?

Yeah, come on Andy. You failed to reach the dizzy heights achieved by Downing, so fuck off to a shit team with one of the shittiest managers on the planet. Don't be a spoilsport, it's only your career!
