Whilst I was shamelessly avoiding work today, I had a quicker browser through redcafe. I noticed in a thread they were talking about the potential hook up between Young and Hernandez. It's a very good point, Hernandez is fantastic at getting on the end of things, poaching goals, he's good in the air too. It got me thinking how it would compare to the potential of Downing and Carroll. Obviously Carroll is stronger in the air, but I don't see him as much of a poacher as Hernandez. There respective partners play to there strengths as well, I see Young as being better at getting down the line and playing the ball across the box, where Hernandez can tap it in, whereas I see Downing getting a lot more crosses on Carrolls head for him to do his thing.
Both of these combinations are going to work great for both us and united and will be key areas of our attacks. Which do you see working better though?
Obviously 16m+35m compared to 20m+6m, you'd expect more from our boys, and I think we'll see more from them, It'll be close though, I think these will be two of the best combinations in the league this season.
