Am I the only one who think that G Barry was rubbish against Slovenia or any other world cup team for that matter?

Glad that he did not join us.

Both of them were far from great.
England could and should have comfortably won it 3:0. Well, at least their into the last 16 now.

He seemed to lose concentration a few times, he will get a kick up the arse in training over the next few days and get back on track.

Rooney is the main concern, he looks lost out there at times. Unable to trap the ball, unable to find a pass and most importantly not pressing and charging down defenders.

This isn't a major surprise.

As I said at the time when we were ready to get rid of Alonso to accomodate Barry we were buying an average player who has been at his career peak for about 2 years and soon after we buy him he'll be average again.

It's the class is permanent, form is temporary thing all over again.

He looked like a player still playing his way back to sharpness after injury.

His presence (and the trust Lampard and Gerrard have in him) does free up our attacking midfielders though. He'll still have an important part to play if we progress.

He's largely been slow and ponderous.

Heard he's not been particularly great at City either.

It must get boring being right all the time Ross. Much more of it and you'll be catching Brendan and Ryan.

This. He's no Alonso, but he's important for the balance of the England side.

I lost count how many times he lost the ball or gave away the ball in dangerous positions. Any top team will surely punish that.

Barry much like Lampard, Terry and Rooney have to up their game considerably or they face the reality of elimination.

England need a big team performance to overcome a German side playing sexy football!
