Aspas still raring to make a splash on Merseyside

Yeah, I know what you mean. He was supposed to be player of the season at Celta, which I understood was as much for his attitude as his quality. I'm not sure he's been quite as lazy as you suggest, but he's clearly looked overawed, and is completely unequipped to cope with this league at present. There's no doubt he's put on muscle, which I think shows a willingness to adapt. But again, I'm not sure he's worth the effort in the long run. I guess how much we persevere with him will depend on whether we can afford another forward this window.

That was a good finish and the bits of the game I could manage to watch on my shite stream, he looked decent.

Like I said yesterday, he's definitely got something about him and the ability's there. Long way to go mind.

good improvisation there by him, he needs to get it going from this step and do his max whenever he gets any chances in league

for a second I thought he might go a whole season without scoring a goal. has a lfc striker ever done that? (injured for whole season excluded)

He hasnt been good. Clearly been off pace, overawed by the PL and not been involved to much so that he could adapt.
There is something about him and he works his bollocks off. You feel that when he gets used to the tempo and physical side that his game will change quite a bit.

Easy to forget that he hasnt been playing for us more than 6 months. Made up for him today and hope he kicks on.

Give him time to get used to the tempo? Let's face it, he's not likely to get a sniff unless Suarez or Sturridge are both out of action.

The thing that I find strange is that Brodge extolled the virtues of Aspas' attitude when he was being signed. He banged on about how he was a fighter on the pitch, chased everything, hated losing, ra ra ra. He made him sound like a diet-Suarez.

So I was expecting something along those lines.

He couldn't be more unlike that. He strolls around, I've never seen him sprint once, and everything passes him by without him looking like he gives a fuck. I don't mind when foreigners struggle to adapt, but when they look like they're struggling to care then that's a bigger issue.

he ran around and put a hell of a shift in today, harrying there players loads, ok it was oldham but still he worked hard and deserved a goal
