Arsenal Vs Liverpool Pre Match

I don't really want it to be a good game!

I want to score three goals in the first ten minutes. All of them can be sloppy fuck ups on their part, own goals, or incorrectly judged onside.

I don't give a shit, I just want it done & won.

All that said, if we can beat an Arsenal side that are performing, & even outplay them, then our players might start believing they can do something big this season.

I reckon the SAS thing really has teams rattled. Clarke last game said his defenders wouldn't be losing any sleep over facing the SAS now Vermaelen is spouting something similar.

Thomas Vermaelen is confident Arsenal will be able to contain Liverpool's deadly 'SAS' strike-force of Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge.
The pair are the most potent in England at the moment, with 16 goals between them and are the main reason Liverpool have made such a good start to the season.
But with Arsenal sitting top of the Premier League table, Vermaelen is confident that they can get the better of Suarez and Sturridge as the two sides clash in this weekend's Saturday Night Football.

"We know them from the past. We played a lot against Luis Suarez already, and of course I know him from my time in Ajax," said Vermaelen, who himself is unlikely to feature against Liverpool after dropping behind Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker in the pecking order.
"Sturridge we played against last season. We know them both, they are playing well and quite dangerous. But now we need to keep going like we did the last couple of weeks.2
Vermaelen insists that Tuesday's League Cup defeat to Chelsea will not have a major impact on the them.
"We've had a lot of big games and a defeat shouldn't take our confidence away," he said.

Sturridge and Suarez: In fine form for Reds

"We need to build on the results we had previously. We have won more games than we lost.
"It's disappointing but we have a big game on Saturday and I am quite confident we can win that game.
"It's really important to respond quickly. It's good the game is on Saturday, and we can respond to the defeat.
"We are top of the league. We should have a lot of confidence to beat Liverpool."

Thomas Vermaelen is an absurdly hopeless centre back so I care not a fuck for his opinion on anything to do with football.

Anyway, in the words of Daniel Day Lewis... There will be goals. Or something. I'm predicting 2-2 or 3-2. One team will win, or it'll be a draw. You can bank on that.

Two ordinary defences, two keepers capable of flapping like seals, a small handful of world class dwarves will decide it. Hopefully it's one of our ones, not their gay ones.

Wenger will come marching out from his seat towards the touchline a few times too. Like a big frump.

Henderson deserves to keep his place at the minute, but if Coutinho comes back and plays like has done in the past, I can't see Henderson holding down a place in the team without him showing a bit more going forward. It's the only position currently open, as I can't see him overtaking Gerrard or Lucas.

Agree with that.

You'd play Lucas as our only real ball-winning outlet in midfield against Arsenal? And then Gerrard and Coutinho in the other two midfield spots?

Their possession stat will close in on 70%. Just saying.

Not a bad thing.

I said earlier in the week that the way to beat this arsenal side is on the fast break/counter attack.

Absorb their pressure whilst staying in shape, and break like lightning when Lucas Knicks the ball back off them. It'll work.

Haha, one team will win or it will be a draw. 😉

I fear the worst tomorrow tbh. Arsenals quick passing and movement could be hard to deal with. We got a good chance though. Lets hope the optimism and positivity from the start of the season wont change if we lose. Its not the end of the world if we do, there is still a long way to go.

Apparantly its an unchanged team tomorrow. Was expecting that tbh.

So much this. I hope we do win with a dodgy goal just to wind up Wenger!

Hope you are right mate.

Didn't really think there were any other outcomes from the game.

I'm treating this as a Cup Final. I don't mean that to sound in any way small time btw. It just FEELS like a Cup Final. I have a pit in my stomach, just like the one you would have Wednesday morning before a big European game. Hey it's November, we're not out of the league. Coutinho is back. Suarez is fucking amazing and David Moyes is the Man united manager.

I heart Ryan's hatred of Thomas Vermaelen and his defensive capabilities. Belgian Spoofer.

I think that we win this game to nil.
It might not be pretty but this will be Mignolets first clean sheet in a while.
Top of the fucking league mate.

Jack Wilshire is talking about Suarez and how he'd love him at Arsenal quite a bit before this game.

Stevie Nicol forecasts a win for us. Not always easy to get that good a forecast out of him ! I like him, seems like a good pundit.

Hey guys, just wanted to see if anyone had some info on live streams for the game against arsenal( that will work on a ipad as I don't have a PC ).

It we play 4 at the back we will win.

3 at the back we will lose.

Either way today is the day every Liverpool fan finally forgives Suarez for the summer

One of our posters (gkmacca) kindly reposts a list of streams & links, some of which should work on ipad I believe, before the match.

Stay tuned...

Just saw this. Cheeky Brendan.

[article=http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/348610/Arsenal-s-bid-for-Luis-Suarez-turned-them-into-a-laughing-stock]Rodgers also reckons Arsenal might struggle to remain at the top unless they bring in another striker in January.

The Northern Irishman was reliant on Suarez in the early part of last season and then on Daniel Sturridge when the Uruguayan was suspended.

“It may become difficult if you lose that one striker,” Rodgers added. “I’d think Arsene Wenger will look to get a striker in.

“We had that situation last year, with one recognised striker, but thankfully he was wonderfully robust and strong and that got us through until January.

“I’m sure Arsene will be hoping and praying he doesn’t get any injuries… and he’s obviously got Nicklas Bendtner.”[/article]

How does it feel like a cup final? Arsenal are in it

Lets be fair they do get to finals, its just that they lose all the time it seems.

Fucking hell Modo.

Your mates must love you.

"I don't know why you're all laughing, I know someone called paddy from Ireland who is a brain surgeon, so that stereotype is quite inaccurate"
