Great review @Rory Fitzgerald , but the Arteta stuff is plain wrong. Mikel Arteta started, right from a youth player (at Barca), as a deep lying midfielder, and it is inaccurate to say he's played most of his football as a number 10. I watched his emergence with Glasgow Rangers when I lived there at the time, and his natural position, the one he coveted, was the deep role. It was frustrating for him that this was Barry Ferguson's position, but he made no secret of the fact that this was the role he believed destined to play (and he did play there at times for Rangers). It is also true that Moyes regularly played him in positions other than his favoured one, partially because of a lack of options, and a desperate need for creativity further up the field, but he wasn't typically played as a number 10, but as a midfielder (often on one of the flanks instead of in the middle). In other words, the deep midfield position is the one that Arteta has always coveted, even if he has not been given the opportunity to play there any where near as much as he would have liked.

Except Arteta is no-where near as good as Flamini, as DM, who has been excellent for Arsenal this season and who they are going to miss.
If we start 3-5-2 as we should, I don't want to see the players shuffled around for a big game just when they are settling into this system, then it gives us the numbers in MF that we need.
I feel confident in our back 3 to handle their attackers for most of the game and the biggest battle on the pitch is going to be Arteta / Koscielny and Mertesacker vs. Countinho / Sturridge and Suarez. With Gerrard assisting too I am confident we will get goals (we've averaged 3 per game over the last 4 PL matches). This could be a high scoring match but as a counter-attacking team we've got every chance. It's going to be real nerve jangly !

Yep. A game in November which is a top of the clash that we are involved in. It's been a while. I'm proper excited and it's good it's a 5.30 kick off. A large bunch of boisterous and loud Scousers at the emirates is a good thing.
