All for giving youth a chance, though expecting Ibe to rise up to Luis levels is plain mental and foolish.

If Ibe plays half as well well as Sterling did last season, he would have made huge progress.
"Mental and foolish"....harsh hmmmmm, I'll accept foolishly optimistic.

Sturridge is going to be the main man with Ricky Lambert his able deputy. Markovic and Sterling on the wings with Coutinho in the hole. I'll happily take that.

Suarez won't be easily replaceable but we have done well in his temporary absence before. We need to buy wisely to compensate for the goals he would have given us. If the front 3 spread the goals around and the midfielders start contributing, who knows where we could end up.

Those called for James Rodriguez are dreaming. He is looking for a Real move. Let's see what pans out without Sanchez but something has to give. The sooner, the better.

Yeah, no problems with Sturridge, except I doubt his fitness is going to be up to doing the role week in week out, and while I like Lambert he's still a bit of a gamble, so we DO need another top class striker, asap.

I'd like to think that we'll get a striker with a great records and the requisite experience. Thats a must if we want to kick on and improve on the runners up spot of last season. Its going to be harder but after watching us obliterate the opposition, I'm confident enough to think that BR can do this and get us over the line.

I think team selection will be a helluva lot more fluid than that Roland. Rodgers will choose the front 6 for each game from Sturridge, Henderson, Allen, Sterling, Markovic, Ibe, Gerrard, Can, Lambert, Lallana, Coutinho, Teixera and hopefully Sanchez. Ideally none of the above will be needed to play more than 40 games and all of them will start at least 15 games (maybe with the exception of Teixera). It's going to be so exciting for us to finally be able to rotate the squad with all players good enough to win matches.

Name that man ! You know unless it's Messi / Ronaldo /Falcao this place is going to be at each other's throats saying he's not good enough / doesn't score enough etc. etc.

Fact is there are very few that meet the moniker 'great scorer'. However a much better defence and midfielders who can score a few (Shaqiri / Markovic / Lallana) will surely mitigate the damage so a damn good striker to backup / work alongside Sturridge would be enough. Getting them in is something else altogether. Sanchez would be the perfect replacement - I've got everything crossed because otherwise it's going to be damned difficult to find someone to fill that hole.

Are we missing a trick with Remy?

Pesam, I agree that we have much more options and hopefully the young lads hunger will make up for the loss of Suarez goals by bagging more than a few themselves.

Froggy, tightening up the back must be a priority and I hope that we get a beast of a CB to compliment Skrtel/Sakho. Emre Can must step up immediately with Lucas probably Napoli bound.

I think we may be. Fast, surely has an excellent scoring rate (I haven't checked), PL proven (I hate that phrase but in this case it means the physicality doesn't bother him) and available on the cheap. Would certainly fit in.

Lovren is certainly that CB. Whether he's a monster or not remains to be seen but I'm certainly very happy with that buy !

Can looks great from his Youtube vs. United (I like these one game, every touch, type 'tubes' better than highlight reels). Just 20 yrs old he really looks like he could develop into a very special midfielder. Heading, tackling, passing range, pace, shooting, crossing ... seems to have a full arsenal. A step up on Lucas.

Agree. Remy may be the best back-up option for Sturridge. Would prefer Sanchez, who offers something different from Sturridge and Lambert, but if we cannot get a top-class forward like Sanchez, I would be content with Remy and Shaqiri.

Hamann seems very excited for Can so I'm hoping that he learns quickly and thrives under BR with Stevie helping him along nicely. So'ton I hope relent because Lovren has certainly burnt all bridges to St. Mary's.

The truth my dear padawan is a) Reus b) Aguero c) Messi d) Ronaldo e) Muller f) Zlatan g) Moses

No, there is another....

I would tell but I don't want the considerable weight of the rumour police coming down on me

No, I'm not posting something in case I'm trolled. Thanks for listening.
So by posting something and then hinting that you're not gonna post it because of ross (fat checked etc)... That's not preventative trolling.. . That's trolling.

If you don't want to be trolled by someone (when what Ross does with twitter/rumour stuff isn't trolling anyway, it's him just kicking off)... Then don't post anything about it

It's playground stuff and you're better than that man.
