None of us want it to get serious, we all love the tangents and banter that can be had on here.
But it's not a free for all. Ultimately it's for football discussion too.
Speaking for myself, recently the forum has become soooooooooooo meh
If it's not Modo and Mark arguing, it's Ross wanting to shove twitter up hanserns arse! There's little debate to be had. If any good post does rise above the shite, it's lost nearly immediately due to a tangent.
We've tried as mods to split threads, create new ones, lock useless ones, but it's soooooo soul destroying. It's like being the gardener at Alton towers.
And it's a fine opinion to have, but there would have to be monitoring of it in case and forum dynamite is in there. All posters on here are capable of excellent posts on football matters, and there is the fear that creating a thread just for bollocks means we lost time and effort by someone. And that's a fucking crime.
I'd agree Ross should tone it down, but people should also realise this isn't a place to vomit their feelings on any wall, and smear faeces over each others work.
I like you @Semolina Lipton, you're a beast. There's so many nuances to this which we've tried to discuss MANY times in our Mod lair. It's not a negrito and white issue.

Before it was tribalfootball, now it's random Twitter accounts. Most of the stuff in the papers is made up too so who cares.

That excuses the fact that he go around insulting and belittling people completely unprovoked whilst none of you guys seem to give a shit? It's completely out of order the way he speaks to people on this site because he doesn't like what they say, or what they enjoy discussing, and I dare say if one of us was speaking like that to someone, you'd be having words with us. If he spoke to said people with an iota of respect, we might actually get somewhere.

What we are trying to do with the twitter thing is stop the forum from becoming "e's ded gud im". We want to promote debate. Twitter is lazy as it's a fucking soapbox for anyone.
