£100 over 2.5 goals Newcastle v Liverpool to win £84
£3.60 Spearing 1st goalscorer to win £266

Shocking internet connectivity in my office at present so I'm struggling to log on to Betfair but I've phoned in a £280 lay of Birmingham winning at Burnley tonight to win £200. I'm actually going to the game but hopefully will have time to check the team news before kick off and will phone-in another £100 or so if Ings & Austin start up front together.

Ok I've just nipped home before leaving for the game and I'm taking a chance that Ings & Austin both start (I think they will) so the bet is............................

£585 lay of Birmingham winning at Burnley to win £430.

Tonight I will be cheering for Burnely louder than most of their fans.

Strange, my office internet is suddenyl working after a week on the blink! I've ordered a new line anyway.

It was a bit unlucky in that we got to the ground to be greeted by the news that Austin & Ings were both starting BUT so was McQuoid (another forward) and Burnley were playing a 4-3-3.

I told my Burnley-supporting friend it was a huge mistake because Birmingham are a big, strong physical team and by playing 3 in midfield Burnley would be overrun which is exactly what happened.

After Burnley switched to 4-4-2 in the 2nd half they dominated and deservedly equalised but after battering away at the Birmingham goal and finally getting their equaliser they then just switched off and Birmingham scored almost immediately. The 3rd goal was in the last minute and gave the score an unjust look because Burnley deserved a draw based on their 2nd half performance.

My season is petering out and I've fallen below the £2,000 profit mark so this could be my worst season since I started betting "big". I win £480 if the Scum win the league (and £175 if City win it) and unfortunately I win £200 if LFC don't finish top 6 so these will help my total but it's still been a very disappointing spring so far. Hopefully Easter weekend puts me back on track.

To be fair that's some encouraging stuff, since you'll probably end up with another £680.

I layed Liverpool to finish top 10 at 1.07 or something so i can win like £300 if we fall in the bottom half.

I lost most of my season profit on the Arsenal-QPR and LFC-NUFC games this weekend, need an England collapse in the cricket to make some money back, put £100 on Sri Lanka at 5/1

On recent form there's every chance of an England collapse.

My problem is frustration; every season there is no shortage of games that I find in which certain key players are missing or back from injury or signed/sold which gives me an advantage in that I know most of the important players from all the teams. But this season every time I spot a potential bet the team I want to bet on a the ones who suddenly have a player injured or suspended etc. I then get a bit frustrated and end up betting on matches I probably shouldn't be bothering with.

Normally by this stage of the season I have usually placed at least one £1,000+ bet, at least five £750+ bets and far more £500 bets than I have this season but I'm struggling to find matches that appeal.

I've already looked at Friday/Saturday's games and again nothing sticks out as yet as a potential cash-cow. I suppose with the playoffs still to come and the Euro's this summer a decent total is still possible but I'm less convinced than I was at the beginning of March.

Stuck another tenner on Sri Lanka to win at 20/1, bearing in mind they're essentially 25/4 and they won in first test with that.

The price of Newcastle at 3.2 to beat Swansea looks pretty tempting.

I like Swansea but 3.2 is too big for Newcastle so I might join you in that one SO.

The cricket isn'tover yet, if Sri Lanka can get a 130 lead then England could still throw it away.
