Nicky Butt
Alan Smith

Very harsh on Nicky Butt, wasn't he voted England's player of the tournament in the 2002 World Cup?

Not sure if they've been mentioned already but they should have been

Keith Curle
Tony Daley
David White
Stuart Ripley
Brian Deane
Neil Webb
Andy Gray (the Crystal Palace one, not the cunty Everton one)

Yeah Sol Campbell? Really?

He was pretty good IMO.

I'll have to nominate Carlton, Paul Parker and that right back from Charlton.

Yeah I'm a racist.
Luke Young?
Maybe he was a left back, black guy, I think he's managing a league one team. Cant be arsed finding out who, Powell or something.
He was a left-back. Full name's Chris Powell and he's now Charlton's manager.

I think he's a very good footballer, but he has less bottle than an eggy wet fart.

Scott Carson
Chris Kirkland
Lee Bowyer
Paul Konchesky
Kieran Richardson
Nicky Shorey
Bobby Zamora

In fairness these days players don't have to do a lot. Just be English and play a few games in the Premier League. There's not a huge amount of competition compared to 20 years ago, when you actually had lots of players who never got to play for England, or some really good players who only got a handful of caps.

You touched on something there. They just need a settled side. Look Spain, Germany etc. We basically know who'll start.
So pick 11 and stick with them, unless they're injured etc.

Ryan has it with Gary 'the Doc' Doherty.
Well that was hardly unusual for back then was it!!!

The difference was that Cascarino didn't have any Irish relations at all, or at least any that would qualify him to play.
I think it was because the relation he thought was Irish was actually adopted so he had no blood relative, but I think adopted children can take on nationality so he probably would have been okay anyway.

Was gonna say Keith Curle but Richey beat me to it. The other one who comes to mind is our very own Neil Ruddock.
