Have we really only played 7 games this season ?

Seems like more.

Crazy, I must be getting old.

Witness Real Madrid's epic shit-fits when they lose or draw a couple in a row.

Wrong example.

Just read Whelan's view on the state of affairs and the myriad of shite posted over the weekend from the usual, predictable bellends.

What a load of hysterical bollocks.

We've had injuries and illness to deal with, Rafa's even come out and said Agger, Skrtel and Torres are doubts for Wednesday, so how is he 'prioritising' Europe?

And while we're at it, we've had players like Torres playing while half fit out of necessity. We've not been getting the rub of the green in many games either (the beachball, Degen's sending off).

We're not playing particularly brilliant, which can be attributed to the above, how do you find cohesion when you've got injury problems in every game?

Sure, point the finger at the thinness of the squad, point the finger at owners too for their laughable cover up of our spends this Summer. But get behind the team FFS, and the manager for that matter, it's November, exactly what is all the hysteria at Benitez going to achieve at this stage??

What kind of selling ploy do we have to take on a new manager? What can we offer?

Exactly, fuck all. Benitez might be on a hiding to nothing, and he might ultimately deserve to go, but that's for another day. He deserves a fair portion of criticism, but we're in crisis, the kind that no one could have predicted and the last thing we need is fickle supporters stabbing the manager in the back when he and the club need us most. I swear some seem to be basking in the glory of it all.

When you walk through a storm and all that? Are they just hollow words then?
A very good rallying cry Mark but in reality, the majority on here are just making valid points regarding our poor form so far. I think you could count on one of Glock's trotters how many people actually want Rafa sacked and are revelling in the situation.

Fair enough Sheiky, they're probably just hogging the limelight, and loving it.

There's no question in one way or another Rafa is culpable, but he's not the only issue, bad luck is playing it's part too.

Would any other manager of a top Side in Europe still be in a job ?

Not that I want Rafa gone but it seem's the clubs chronic under achieving in the league in recent years has almost been his saving grace.

For what it's worth, we can't possibly play this badly all season and as soon as we do find out rhythm, we will go on a run and win 7,8 or 9 games on the trot. No doubt we'll be in the usual april/may 'what if' situation but I'm confident our season can still be rescued

And just as irritating, predictable and pointless were the myriad 'told you so" posts after we beat United last week

Lucas is ace, see!
Insua isn't shit!
Rafa is a genius!

Yawn

I said before that game that I had never been less arsed about a United game, because either way the result would be of no significance - we have a rubbish squad and too many poor players in the first team - and that has been borne out

That's some statement with little less than a hundred games to go.

At the end of the day, the results speak for themselves.

Played 7
Lost 6

That's astonishing.

Which basically sums up the general lack of perspective I was referring to. It's hardly that black and white is it? The same squad trounced most of what was before them for the first 5 months of the year. Other teams haven't improved that much. There are enough factors to consider, including Rafa's own mistakes, but that's not the exclusive reason.
That's fair enough Mark... For my part, I'm not lumping the entire problem at Rafa's feet, but I do hold him accountable for his part of it.

Now, one thing that I do not agree with at this point is the whole "knee-jerk" thing - We've played 15 matches this season and we've lost 8 of them. Even when you remove the Arsenal game, that's still 50%.

That's hardly knee-jerk, lads.

We must get behind the team and the manager and give them our support YNWA come on you reds

Yea, let's support Rafa the way we supported Evans, Souness and Houllier. We're the bestest fans in the world. Our misplaced sense of loyalty and self-image as patient knowledgeable fans makes being Liverpool manager one of the best jobs in football and is one of the reasons why we've won fuck all for 20 years.

We have not drawn a game this season so out of the eight defeats we had drawn four that would mean only four defeat
Which would sound better but not be that much better.
Like when we say better to win one lose one than draw two as three points is better than two, same as drawing three
games is no worse than loseing two and winning one points wise. I hope this makes sense I posted it on my iPhone

Disagree. I don't think the fans' attitude has had that much, if any, influence on the decisions taken at top level within the club during the period in question, besides which the fans sussed Souness, Evans and Houllier all right. The blame lies elsewhere altogether.

Actually, it would mean a far better position for us in both the league and European Cup tables, mate.

Injury this, injury that. Fucking hell! Absolute nonsensical garbage spouted by the Rafael lovers. Almost identical garbage spouted by Rafael in the press. He's saving his own ass and at the end of the month collects the paycheck.

Listen, Gerrard and Johnson missing means we are without two first team players but both of their absences are Rafael's fault because he didn't let them recover in the first place. Riera has barely played this season and Rafael's 2 first choice wingers, Kuyt and Benayoun are both fit to play.

Kelly is 3rd choice rightback at the minute but since Degen is missing his absence makes a difference because Rafael cost us Johnson. Only one of Agger and Skrtel would be playing anyway. Insua is first choice left back so Aurelio missing makes no difference. Ngog is shit so his absence is a plus. Aquilani hasn't played all season so that's not an excuse.

From Rafael's current first choice 11, we are currently missing Gerrard, Johnson and possibly a centre half. 8 first teamers are good to go.

Injuries are not an excuse.

What a hysterical crock of shit!!! your posts are increasingly laughable. Despite regular anti-rafa stance of Rage at least he is capable of some reasonable and coherent posting, you Glock cannot even dream of reaching that level of coherence

What are you talking about?

If two of those draws had been against Spurs and Chelsea, we'd be three points better off against each of them for a start. The simple matter of being three points better off alone would be huge.

You know that we lost the league by 4 points last season, right?

ha ha

Seriously though, I think accusing someone of not being a supporter is the equivalent of guffawing during a discussion and shouting "that's like something Hitler would say".

When someone says "you're not a real supporter" it's a real indication that they're losing the argument.
