Just read Whelan's view on the state of affairs and the myriad of shite posted over the weekend from the usual, predictable bellends.

What a load of hysterical bollocks.

We've had injuries and illness to deal with, Rafa's even come out and said Agger, Skrtel and Torres are doubts for Wednesday, so how is he 'prioritising' Europe?

And while we're at it, we've had players like Torres playing while half fit out of necessity. We've not been getting the rub of the green in many games either (the beachball, Degen's sending off).

We're not playing particularly brilliant, which can be attributed to the above, how do you find cohesion when you've got injury problems in every game?

Sure, point the finger at the thinness of the squad, point the finger at owners too for their laughable cover up of our spends this Summer. But get behind the team FFS, and the manager for that matter, it's November, exactly what is all the hysteria at Benitez going to achieve at this stage??

What kind of selling ploy do we have to take on a new manager? What can we offer?

Exactly, fuck all. Benitez might be on a hiding to nothing, and he might ultimately deserve to go, but that's for another day. He deserves a fair portion of criticism, but we're in crisis, the kind that no one could have predicted and the last thing we need is fickle supporters stabbing the manager in the back when he and the club need us most. I swear some seem to be basking in the glory of it all.

When you walk through a storm and all that? Are they just hollow words then?

I haven't always been Rafa's biggest fan (he has done some silly things during his tenure) but some of the stuff over the last few days has been ridiculous, I suppose he must just be an easy target. People (well the ones fanning the flames of hysteria anyway) don't stop to think how a Chelsea/Arsenal/UTD side who have all lost 2 in 11 would cope without the likes of Lampard & Drogba, Fabregas & Van Persie, Rooney & Giggs. The way some are going on you'd think Rafa was trying to sabotage this club :🙂

Injury this, injury that. Fucking hell! Absolute nonsensical garbage spouted by the Rafael lovers. Almost identical garbage spouted by Rafael in the press. He's saving his own ass and at the end of the month collects the paycheck.

Listen, Gerrard and Johnson missing means we are without two first team players but both of their absences are Rafael's fault because he didn't let them recover in the first place. Riera has barely played this season and Rafael's 2 first choice wingers, Kuyt and Benayoun are both fit to play.

Kelly is 3rd choice rightback at the minute but since Degen is missing his absence makes a difference because Rafael cost us Johnson. Only one of Agger and Skrtel would be playing anyway. Insua is first choice left back so Aurelio missing makes no difference. Ngog is shit so his absence is a plus. Aquilani hasn't played all season so that's not an excuse.

From Rafael's current first choice 11, we are currently missing Gerrard, Johnson and possibly a centre half. 8 first teamers are good to go.

Injuries are not an excuse.

I don't know LTW, it's an interesting insight into psychosis if you ask me. It helps you know if you're still sane or not, if I ever start sounding like him I want to be taken out behind the barn and shot!

I will support Liverpool regardless of circumstances. Its not exactly like we've been winning the Premiership every other season. The last 20 odd years have been painful with a few exceptional highlights along the way. Rafa is inching towards the exit and recent results will only compound matters. Success seems even further away now. Looking for an upturn in fortune and results.

That's true, we do have lucas.
Lucas has the potential to be a world class player. He has been excellent so far in Olympics playing with the likes of Ronaldinho and co. If given the chance consistently he could be a better player than Alonso because he has they eye to make killer passes to strikers.

Glock, for every anti Rafa post there seems to be 2-3 pro Rafa posts....

We do not know what is going on inside of melwood, so all your ranting is pure speculation....

Well said Mark. I agree with every thing you posted.
There are far too many knee-jerk merchants around here these days, they even find stuff to bitch and moan about when we win games so I am sure they are loving this current funk we are in.

I think its more like, for every 1 ill-conceived, disrespectful, nauseatingly one-sided anti Rafa post, there are 4 replies which are decidedly anti cunt.

I doubt many are loving it (well maybe Rage & Glock) but calling it knee-jerk is somewhat off the mark. And as for bitching and moaning I think it would be far worse if people shrugged their shoulders, whistled YNWA and didnt give a fuck as our season unravels.

If you'd said 'the' you might have appeared almost sane. As you said 'an,' you just sound as stupid as usual. (Try this experiment: snap one of your legs in half, then kick a ball.)

Usual respectful stuff from Roy:

Roy Hodgson has backed Liverpool to bounce back from their recent woes and rekindle their title challenge.

The Reds went down to their fifth Barclays Premier League defeat of the season at Fulham on Saturday, but the Cottagers boss insists they have far too much quality at their disposal to be written off just yet.

"You never know. They are a very good team, very well organised," he said. "They have some very good players and are unlucky at the moment that their talisman Steven Gerrard isn't playing and (Fernando) Torres isn't 100 per cent fit and has to be nursed through the games.

"But I can see them going on a really good run when they win seven, eight, nine games in a row and if that was to coincide with one or two defeats for the other top teams they would soon be up there again.

"With a quarter of the season gone it is very early to be writing anybody off. I remember not so long ago Manchester United were lingering in the middle of the table almost halfway through the season and went on to win it."

That's blaming the former for the latter. The former wouldn't be there if the latter hadn't emerged as an arrogant and blinkered rant claiming to have the exclusive rights to total objectivity.

top post mark. some people's opinions change more often than the wind changes direction, at least rage is consistant. why weren't people calling for rafa's head after we beat manu?

Oh god, the misguided indulgence is getting silly. Take a dogmatic position and stick to it obsessively and you earn an 'at least he's consistent' comment?

I'm not saying you stick with rafa through thick and think I'm saying you should form an opinion over a period of time and not be swayed either way over a single result good or bad. a good result doesn't make you the best team in the world like a bad result doesn't make you the worst.

You should constantly be questioning your own opinion in the light of each new event. Hume pointed that out a few centuries ago. Deciding you're 'for' or 'against' and then doggedly ignoring or explaining away every troubling fact just means you're more attached to your opinion than you are to the truth. That's why those characters are so irritating to the rest of us. Defending their position has become more important to them than seeing the team improve. Each positive is like a stab to the heart as far as they're concerned. That's why they really don't deserve this 'at least they're consistent' crap.

At the end of the day, the results speak for themselves.

Played 7
Lost 6

That's astonishing.
Which basically sums up the general lack of perspective I was referring to. It's hardly that black and white is it? The same squad trounced most of what was before them for the first 5 months of the year. Other teams haven't improved that much. There are enough factors to consider, including Rafa's own mistakes, but that's not the exclusive reason.

Football is a fickle sport / business. Today's game is measured by results and results alone. Witness Real Madrid's epic shit-fits when they lose or draw a couple in a row.

I'm neither PRO or Against Rafa at this point.

But, in all honesty, if I was offered Maureen to step in tomo to replace Rafa...... I would take it, no question about it.
