Graham Beecroft seemed to think there was truth in this. Never strikes me as sensationalist or someone who would comment on something without substance.

Beecroft not known for bs, however all the other Merseyside journalist are staying quiet on this one....

Actually, they're saying that they haven't heard anything and that they expect January to be quiet for us. The only journalist who has suggested we might sign a few players has been Ian Herbert in the Independent, and I've no idea if he has any links to the club. Barrett and Pearce have both spoken about Origi, with Pearce confident (or rather saying the club is confident) we'll get him this month.

Nothing on Shaqiri by any of the reputable journalists who cover Liverpool.

[article]Wednesday’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport gives the latest updates on the future of Bayern’s Swiss playmaker, who is certain to leave the Allainz Arena this January having been frozen out of Pep Guardiola’s side.

According to the pink paper, Inter are set to meet with Shaqiri and Bayern Munich today to finalised a deal for the 23-year-old.

Shaqiri, who is said to prefer a move to Inter over Liverpool, is being offered €2.5 million a season plus bonuses until 2019 at the San Siro.

As to the transfer terms more globally, Inter want to initially take Shaqiri on loan until the end of the season, with an option to buy the player for €12 million, whilst Roberto Mancini is said to have guaranteed to the Swiss star will be a key player in his team.

As for Liverpool, the Reds are rumoured to have offered €15 million to Bayern, whilst Shaqiri would be in line for €3 million a season, however Inter are thought to be in pole position regardless.[/article]

Sanchez MK II ?

Depends if we're interested or not though. All the noise is coming from the Italian media, could be his agent.

For Keni...

Liverpool hopeful of Xherdan Shaqiri January deal as Roberto Mancini casts doubt on Inter move Tony Mogan By Tony Mogan January 7, 2015 13:00 GMT 1 3

Xherdan Shaqiri moving to Inter Milan is not certain, according to boss Roberto Mancini(Reuters)

Liverpool have a chance of securing a deal for Bayern Munich midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri during the January transfer window after Inter Milan boss Roberto Mancini denied his club had agreed a deal. Shaqiri, 23, has remained a peripheral figure under Pep Guardiola this season and is all but certain to leave the club this month. Liverpool have held a long-term interest in the Swiss international and attempted to sign the player during the summer transfer window but Inter have moved into pole position to bring him to the San Siro. Reports on Tuesday 6 January suggested Inter are only willing to take the player on loan until the end of the season, giving Liverpool the opportunity to sign him outright in the summer. But speaking after Inter's 1-1 draw with Juventus on Tuesday, Mancini has suggested a deal is far from being concluded, a scenario that could see Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers bring Shaqiri to Anfield this season. "I do not know if it will be possible," Mancini told reporters. "The coach always hopes to be able to do things quickly but sometimes you cannot."

Shaqiri, who can reportedly leave the Allianz Arena for just £10m this summer, can play on both wings as well as through the middle and would appear to fit Rodgers' need for "ready-made players". Inter, however, who this week signed Lukas Podolski on loan from Arsenal until the end of the season, are also in desperate need of players capable of delivering an instant impact who can help the club improve on their miserable season that sees them slumped in 11th in Serie A. The Nerazzurri have also been heavily linked with Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah, who has continued to play a bit-part role at Stamford Bridge this season following his move from FC Basel in January 2014. However, Jose Mourinho's refusal to consider offers for any members of his first-team squad is likely to prevent any deal from happening

For £10million we'd be mad not to sign him. Dare I say it, but he's currently a better player than Coutinho and Sterling, he'd instantly improve us.

Could be Stoke bound??

He'll be the next Gaston Rameriez.

Stoke City assistant manager Mark Bowen has confirmed their interest in Bayern Munich winger Xherdan Shaqiri. The Switzerland international, 23, has found himself out of favour with Pep Guardiola's side, with most of his 14 games this term coming from the bench. Liverpool and Inter Milan are among clubs also reportedly keen to sign him.

"There is genuine interest because he is a fantastic player," Bowen told BBC Radio Stoke. "He wants to play regular first-team football." Bowen, whose side are currently 11th in the Premier League, continued: "Without any detriment to Stoke City, to get a player like him on board would be fantastic, but he has got many choices of what he wants to do, but we don't rule ourselves out. "He's definitely on our list, but as you can imagine there is competition for a player of his ability."

Bojan was one thing, but Shiqiri would be a massive coup for Stoke, hopefully he'll join us.

I'd like to agree, but I'd be worried about the Studge's fitness, Berahino's apparent attitude problem and the mere presence of Balotelli. Get rid of him, fetch some experienced quality in (on loan if need be) and I'd start feeling the love.
