Courtesy Twitter. This is actually really tough.

Pick your all-time World XI.

Rules:

1. No two players from same country
2. No two players from same club
3. All eleven to have played in your lifetime

My team btw:

------------------Oblak
Cafu---Kompany---VVD---Baines
--------Valderrama---Kante
------Messi---Totti---Ronaldo
------------Lewandowski

I was going to question how you ended up with Baines , but when you realise how limited it becomes when you can't have two players who played at the same club it becomes understandable.

------------------Oblak-------------------
Lahm--Stam--Carvalho-Robbo
-----------------De Rossi---------------
---------Valderrama-Ardiles------
-------Zico---------------Belloumi---
-----------------Mbappe----------------

I've probably fucked up somewhere, I think Ardiles appeared briefly for Blackburn.

Edited.

Litmanen and Suarez played for Liverpool

Butragueño and Zidane played for Madrid

Cruyff and Litmanen played for Ajax

Suarez and Cruyff played for Barca

Counting only from 2000 even though Zola would be good.

Akinfeev
Van Dijk Kompany Hummels
De Rossi
Vela Messi Le Tissier Ronaldo
Drogba Shevchenko

Kahn
Lahm Cannavaro van Dijk Alba
Simeone
Messi Kaka Ronaldo
Shevchenko

This would dick most sides. But do the rules mean two of same nationality or two of who played in the same country?

Kaka, Cannavaro and Ronaldo played for Madrid

Also Kaka and Shevchenko played for Milan

------------------Oblak---------------------------
Lahm--Maldini--De Ligt--Roberto Carlos
----------------Roy Keane---------------
----------Gerrard------De Bruyne------
----Messi----Aubameyang---Mbappe----

For now that's the best I can come up with.

Cheer mate I missed the part about playing for the same club:shame:

My revisited Squad

--------------------------------------------Peter Schmeichel (Denmark)-------------------------

Séamus Coleman (Rep of Ireland)----Kalidou Koulibaly(Senegal)----Paolo Maldini(Italy)---Alphonso Davies(Canada)

----------Jari Litmanen(Finland)------ Christian Pulisic(USA)-------- David Ginola (French)-------------

------------------Garrincha(Brazil)--------Butragueño(Spain)----------Leroy Sane(German)-------------

Mbappe Messi Le Tissier Ronaldo
Drogba Muniain

This is not a team that's going to pass the ball very much, I feel. Pretty sure this one checks out for teams. I had to take Shevchenko out as well completely forgot he played for Chelsea!

My revised team:

-------------------------Oblak
Lahm---Kompany---Terry----Robertson
--------------Rijkaard-----Gilberto
------------------------Totti
-------Messi------Cavani----Ronaldo

Oblak
Srna Kompany Maldini Lahm
Gerrard Kante Juninho
Messi Bergkamp Ronaldo

Banger of a team so I bet there's something wrong

------------------Garrincha(Brazil)--------Butragueño(Spain)----------Leroy Sane(German)-------------

Schmeichel and Sane both played for City.

Schmeichel and Ginola played for Villa.

I wouldn't have pegged you as old enough to have watched Garrincha tbh

My revised team:

-------------------------Oblak
Lahm---Kompany---Terry----Robertson
--------------Rijkaard-----Gilberto
------------------------Totti
-------Messi------Cavani----Ronaldo

Rijkaard and Ronaldo played for Sporting CP.

This game was good fun coming up with a team, but even more fun trying to find errors in others.

My revised team:

-------------------------Oblak
Lahm---Kompany---Terry----Robertson
--------------Rijkaard-----Gilberto
------------------------Totti
-------Messi------Cavani----Ronaldo

My midfield is better. But of course having both Messi and C. Ronaldo in the same team compensates for a lot. Would be a cracking game.

Alphonso Davies plays for Bayern, as did Lahm.

Oh, I didn’t even know he was on their books once as a young player. 0 senior appearances, so should be OK.

He was young, but a senior player on their books. The rule doesn't mention appearances, so this could be a close call.

I await the VAR verdict.
