Here they often sell pickled fruits, and also fruits with other preservatives (I cant remember the English word for asam). But if your thinking of fruits, have you ever tried papaya, mangosteen, rambutans or durians? Those are the famous fruits here. ;D

Far from it my friend..
Its skin is purple in colour, but the flesh is white and sweet. The skins a bit hard so you have to take it a way first. a bit like Dragon Fruit if I'm not mistaken.
