Weekend's Games

You don't know any Everton supporters, so I'd be a little less sure of how they reacted to this defeat
You are correct I don't - met two in my life so far. But their team showed they did not give a shit - can only assume no respect for their supporters to put on a display like that.

It's our good fortune that we whipped Chelsea at The Bridge in September. We wouldn't find it so easy on their current form.
I don't know about that - every time Everton attempted to go forward - with better passing they may have been able to hurt them. it seems that Chelsea try and defend with one massive line/wall in front of their goal so their formation is effectively 9-1-0 when in defensive mode - don't worry we will find a way when the time comes, if any team has had practice at facing walls - it is us.

You implied that Evertonians wouldnt be arsed about getting beat 5-0 simply because that meant Chelsea went top and were more likely to win the league than us

I wasn't arguing about any respect issue. Which is bollocks also anyway

Yes I did imply what you said I implied - and stick by on it on the basis that they must be use to this sort of shit from their team. Certainly it was common practice to watch their team bend-over backwards for Man United to beat them.

They're called Bitters, but even they have limits
If they did have limits - then that limit has increased to accommodate the shit that they put out today - if you saw the game then you would know what I am talking about in terms of that performance.

Chris, @Everton fan on #BBC606: "I was happy when we lost yesterday, I can't stand to see Liverpool win the league."

Some of them are very bitter.. This was the loss to City at home in 13/14.

Firmino only needs what, 5 goals to become top scorer in the league ?

Simples
He's scored every single league goal we've had this season, give or take 20, so I can't see it being a problem.

Thank you - evidence - and I remember that game. They started to play a bit late on. I believe their young Ross scored a good goal in that game. But yeah - we had no hope really relying on them to do something.

Hoffenheim passed the baptism of fire against Bayern in Munich. First time I saw coach Nagelsmann in action – his team plays high press (no surprise there), very defensively disciplined, defenders pushing up and trying to compress the space; fearless and counter-attacking with unity and purpose at every opportunity. The playing style is generally in the same mould as Klopp and Tuchel, except for the formation with 3 CBs and 2 out-and-out strikers. They outplayed Bayern in the first half and deservedly took the lead – but Bayern have been able to strike back through an own goal (from Costa's hard, low cross).

2nd half was initially more of the same, but then finally Bayern started to increase the pressure – they could have won it in the last 10 minutes if not for some unlucky finishing by Muller and Hummels. Still Hoffenheim held strong and had chances to nick a goal on the counter as well. All in all a hard-fought draw and Bayern, try hard as they might, failed to put the surprise challengers in their place. The Hoffenheim fairy tale continues.

Yeah but if they only drop points against the other "top 3" sides and win all the others, they'll win the league.

I watched that tonight. They were VERY good. Worryingly good actually.

Trouble is we haven't yet become all that good at it, besides which they're going a LOT better than they were when we stuffed them at their place. We can still do them but it's going to be difficult.

Chelsea go top.

Not at all surprising - when you have the top goalscorer in the Premiership (Costa, 9), and the third top (Hazard,7), it's pretty inevitable you will be leading the rest.

With the other two leading teams City and Arsenal boasting top scoring players of 8 and 6, the challenge is obvious

Hope we can keep up, starting tomorrow

Haha are you still on about that?? So lets say Firmino took our pens, scored them and had 8 goals. Would that strengthen our titlechances?

Oh, & fwiw, looking at my fb yesterday there were a LOT of very angry bluenoses, however there were a fair few of them saying things like "At least we got beaten by this seasons champions" in a thinly veiled attempt to spin it against us.

It's fair to say there's a lot of them very worried by our start to this season & despite being gutted by the kicking they got, they see a silver lining in not every other side dropping points around us.

They're extremely bitter, but then if you're the club that most scouse kids refer to as "EFC? Empty Fuckin Cabinet" then you'll be bound to be bitter as fuck.

You mean they're not the people's club in Liverpool after all? Well, who'd have thought it?

Just tell all them bitters you don't need to win anything to be a winner. I'm sure they'll feel better. :vamp:

This arsenal spurs game has been fairly even, up until five minutes ago spurs were shading it but now Arsenal are stepping up their game.

Great shot by Walcott just cannoned off the post & Sanchez (i think) couldn't finish the follow up with the net gaping.

Arsenal ahead, looked like a spurs OG.

Yep, it was, Kevin Wimmer headed it into his own net from a great Ozil cross.

Does that mean they need to buy a 20 goal a season striker ?

Handbags. Macca delighted at the scrapping. Not that it's actual fighting.

I don't think most premiership players would know what to do in an actual fight.
