Assaidi is on his way to Anderlecht so I get why he wasn't played.

Flanno and Spearo have barely played during the tour. So they're obviously not in Rodgers plans.
Ward was only selected to make up the numbers.
Jones is 2nd choice and Brendan probably wants Mignolet to play 90 mins in order to be 100% for the start of the season.

Coates also seems to be a goner.

That leaves Robbo, Wisdom, Kelly, Sterling and Downing....

He was very good, as was Lucas.

I know it's not flash, or exciting, and I know it doesn't suit everyone's complete anti-Lucas agenda, but... His ability to continually break up the opposition's play, and win the ball back (without going to ground) is remarkable. He's a good footballer Lucas, get used to me saying that too.

The problem is people don't see his movement or his sublime positioning. They see a replay of him fouling a player and pretty much decide that all he does is run around and foul other players.
Oh, and he doesn't get many assists or goals.

Do you honestly believe Lucas and Allen should play together in starting 11?

We seem to be very vulnerable defensively when we play the two of them along with Gerrard in the midfield.

Offensively we struggle as well when we play them 3 together.
