He was an utter cunt. Didn't he wish cancer on somebody?

Unfortuantely, quite a few have done that on this site mate ... including some who you and I both consider in high regard ... It's a horrible horrible thing to say, and I won't defend him for it, but having talked to him a bit off line, he was a young, spoiled kid who just said stupid shit ... Not a bad person at all.

Youre a very forgiving person though Avram. You see good in others where I simply don't.

You shouldn't have to talk to people in private to determine if they really meant their cuntishness, barring some exceptional circumstances, if they act like a cunt to people, then they're a cunt. Ardja was a cunt.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers says it is possible the club will strengthen in January but refused to comment on links with Petr Cech and Fernando Torres. The Reds, who spent £117m in the summer, are reported to be interested in former striker Torres and goalkeeper Cech, both Chelsea players.

"If there is a possibility that we can strengthen in January, we will look at that," Rodgers said. "There will always be speculation, but I won't comment on any players."

A possibility??

Of course there are possibilities - I doubt that the people in charge of our transfer 'dealings' recognise them though.

Gazzetta dello Sport saying Balotelli wants to return to Italy. Apparantly his agent have been calling Italian clubs, Inter, and wants them to table an offer.
They say he's available for a loan + permanent move next summer.

If he does go he'll surely be replaced, but my bet is it'll probably be via a loan unless we can raise a decent wedge from sales at the same time.

Froggy: true, but that's not actually a denial that it'll happen, besides which Brendan also said he wasn't coming, less than a week before he arrived! I could well imagine the club having agreed behind the scenes that this would be the tack Brendan would take if questioned, if only to try and lessen the impression that we're desperate to get shot of the guy.

I can't see any decent club taking a risk on Balotelli anymore. We were his last chance and he's failed big time.

see, i just knew it was a only a matter of time someone would point that out.

but the fact still remains - Berahino is crap. Mediocre at best.

And haven't history taught us BLOODY ENOUGH to stay away from those type of signings ?!

Loads of Shaqiri links on twitter again (on loan).

Anyone think we might try and convert him into a bustling little striker a la Sanchez etc? The lad is aggressive, quick and can finish...

He'd be an awesome pick up.

Him and a top keeper (or Cech on loan) and it would be an utterly sensational January window. Actually, just getting Shaqiri would see me made up. Just the kind of guy who would fit our style and I suspect Rodgers was gutted when he couldn't get that piece of business sorted during the summer.

We feature highly in the papers but most of it looks garbage eg we will "tempt" Villa with a £15m offer for Delph and Vlaar who are both on frees in the summer...a swap of Borini + £8m for some Nigerian midfielder from Lazio...and Rafa turned down Bony after a 2 week trial when he was 19...

The last bit is true

last time i checked, he was not a striker and we need a striker.

I said exactly that last Summer. He was brilliant for Switzerland at the World Cup, even though playing on the RW for much of the time, he would often cut into the centre (a la Sanchez) and cause mayhem. Would absolutely love him here, we should have got that done before the season started.

I think we tried but Bayern blocked it, I'd love to sign him also, although like Lovren, he's a bit of a poser
