just heard this morning the following info which is said to have come from him:

* Rafa had a clause in his new contract that stated he had complete say over the sale of players. This was the deciding reason for him being axed, as the club wanted to regain control over player sales.

* Hodgson has said that ultimately it's down to the players whether they stay or go, in particular Gerrard and Torres, the club aren't going to put up a fight to keep them, though Hodgson himself is intent on trying to keep hold of his best players.

*
He (Evans) knows for a 'fact' that the bigger name players at the club have instructed their agents to engineer moves for them, they're no longer prepared to stay at what many of them consider to be a 'sinking ship'.

I'm sure Brendan will love this and it'll all be 'Woy's' fault when/if it does happen 😉

Fuck it, if they want to leave let 'em..

The club existed before Mascherano, Torres and Gerrard and it will after them. Infact given the semi-immediate departure of the Yanks I'd imagine we'll be out of this lull sooner rather than later.

We'll also get a pretty penny for them and if Broughton is to believed and I do believe him, we'll get the dollar to reinvest and regroup.

The only major downside is the fact that we might well spend 2 consecutive years out of the top 4 >🙁

I've never said anything was Woy's fault.

If players go I'm sure he'll take some blame for not being a big enough name/good enough manager to keep hold of them. Ultimately it's down to the club, I'm not gonna have much disdain for Hodgson, he's been put there to make the most of a delicate situation. I'm sure if players do go the fans will see through it and the level of hatred towards the owners will increase tenfold.

On another note, I've heard from three separate season ticket holders this week that they've given up their tickets this season.

Where did you hear this, Mark?

A lad I know works for the press in Manchester, though I think he meant that some of what he said was actually said in interview.

I'm concerned it may be more than that. New players will need time to settle in, especially under a manager who himself is new to the club.

It's the ripple effect aswell. I know we're a 'big' club, but without CL football we won't attract the bigger name players, meaning we have to be even more shrewd with our signings, and with limited money due to a lack of CL football. Meanwhile Spurs and City can and probably will capitalise.

The longer we're out of th CL the harder it will be to get back in

Another good news day at Liverpool FC. Our top players want to leave and we'll be expected to replace them with a transfer budget that's smaller than Wigans

If they want out then let them go.

Spurs cracked the top 4 with a team that on paper we should have breezed past last season.

It shows what a good manager can do for average players.

I think Roy will surprise many fans.

It will be nice to see real passion return to our team with players who really want to be here because its LFC and not just because its CL footy.

Spurs had a better, deeper squad than us last season.

As for your last point. Fucking grow up. Top footballers want to play in the top competitions. Nobody with half a fucking brain would expect us to be able to trade soleley on the Liverpool name and our history.

Indeed they did but It I think Roy can bring in cheaper options that can do the job.

My point wasn't that we will only have our name my point is that we will have a motivated passionate team. It's been a long time since I've seen a really motivated Liverpool line up week in week out and I will welcome that this season even if it means losing a couple of players who would sulk there way through the year.

A motivated, passionate team full of mediocre players. Great! A bit like Fulham, then.

Oh, wait.

With a better starting base then ya that would be a f&cking start. Anything would be better that the shite I had to get at 3am for every f*cking Sunday for last year.

Fuck me.. it's only been a year since we finished 2nd in the league and thrashed Real Madrid in the Champions League.

At least I suppose it's something that you're getting excited by the thought of cheap journeymen "passionately" playing for Liverpool.

I really don't buy into all these 'sinking-ship' rumours as we're still one of the biggest brands in the world of football and as such always an atttractive investment prospect and likewise workplace for the best players and coaches around.

IF Gerrard and Torres are indeed on their way then other potential starplayer will come in instead and we'll go from there.

It's not the end of the world.

That's the problem with "brands" when we talk about football teams... it's all about winning.

If coke tastes like shit.... people will drink pepsi.

Tony Evans knows jack shit the reason rafa was sacked, was because we where shite in the leauge. How the fuck does he know for a fact that the top players are engineering moves out the club, is he there new advisornow or something. Tell me how often talk shite break credible football stories.

No worries, hopefully it is just that.. I don't like the noises coming from the Torres camp though.

Ugh, I'm sick of all this doom and gloom. I was feeling far more positive about things last week.

I can't be arsed with these conspiracy theories.
