No info in this online version but apparently the paper writes that

- we will loan winger Oussama Aissaidi to Os Leões in order to lower the price that the Portuguese team is asking for the center-back.

- Aissaidi was previously already on the tabs of the Alvalade team while he was at Heerenveen.

- €4,2 million bid was quickly refused by Sporting's president Bruno de Carvalho, who believes the youngster is worth much more than that.

- Ilori has recently signed a contract with Os Leões until 2015, which includes a €30 million release clause.

- the club's difficult financial situation may force them to sell for a much smaller figure.

assaidi on loan in return for knock down price on him? I'm beginning to think Brendan is a cunning strategist who was planning this move from last year and wanted to sign assman as a cheapie add on to a deal.

I see Spurs scouting team have picked up on this and are now interested in him:

Liverpool could be gazumped by Valencia in their bid to sign Sporting Lisbon defender Tiago Ilori.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has been confident of landing the 20-year-old centre-half as part of his summer refit, but now La Liga side Valencia have joined Spurs and Arsenal in declaring an interest.
Ilori has proven himself to be one of Sporting's most talented performers since breaking into the first team and is under contract until 2015.
He is the latest classy graduate of the academy which has a track record of producing players such as Luis Figo, Ricardo Quaresma, Nani and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Born in London, Ilori has a British-Nigerian father and a Portuguese mother.
Liverpool have had a £3.5million bid for the player rejected, and now Valencia are set to move in.
They believe they will be in a position to hold talks with the player next week.
It is understood that while Liverpool are ready to hand Ilori regular first-team football, he has yet to receive such assurances from the other clubs interested.

Liverpool will have to double their £3m bid for Tiago Ilori if they want to sign the Sporting Lisbon defender.

"The doors are open to negotiate, but for a just price," a source confirmed to Sky Sports.

"We are not disposed to sell any of our players this summer."

I hope we sign him, he could fill the uncoordinated pacey defender role we have had vacant since we lost Djimi Traore, I mean we won a CL with Djimi so if this guy is even vaguely familiar with the concept of defending we will be unstoppable

Ilori is so quick that he has reportedly broken Sporting speed records in training, even surpassing results set by Ronaldo and Nani during their formative years at the club.

Good enough for me - I'm sold ! When was the last time we had a CB that quick .. or even just very quick ? Speed can quickly get defenders out of the jam they've just put themselves in.

Phil motherfucking Babb

Is it the famous nut cracker incident?
I was at that game. I felt quite sorry for the guy as literally 40,000 reds laughed him off the pitch. He was universally hated at the time though so no big deal.

*feels great*

Fucking hell, we had some crap players back then...
Harkness, Scales, Kvarme, Bjoernebye, James, Babb, Ruddock etc.

I dunno - Was Scales really that bad? Harkness was ok as well (Until he snapped his leg in two)
