Tough game just after the international break with three out of our four most important players somewhat compromised.
Gerrard injured.
Sturridge somewhat injured.
Suarez travelling around the world.

Fearing the worst.

Tough game and yes, and as already stated, there's some concerns on our side.

That said, if all 3 of Gerrard, Sturridge and Suarez make it through their respective game this week, i'd back them to be fit and raring to go for the Derby. It's arguably the biggest in recent years, they've 8 days before their next game after Everton and adrenaline will get through if they're carrying knocks/fatigued.

Everton are a strong side no doubt about it but they're not without weaknesses.. Jakielka and Distin are good, experienced pros but put them up against skillful and pacy strikers and they can be vulnerable...Suarez and Sturridge can get at them. Also feel there's a mistake in Howard as well.

Yes we've been doing well after the international break, but this time around there's also injuries to key players we have to consider.

Actually I thought we were doing poorly generally after the break?

The most wank we've played all season (first half away to Newcastle) was the game after the international break.

We could be playing a fucking SCM 11 on Saturday lunchtime and I still wouldn't fancy us to beat you bunch of warriors.

We'll be wank on Saturday and it'll be a draw.

We had around a thousand international breaks this season and I think mostly we've done OK. Maybe our players are already used to this stop-start rhythm.

But yeah, I'm a little worried too, especially with the injury concerns. Good thing Henry offered to fly Suarez home in his private jet; it's a nice gesture and will hopefully give Luis more time to rest and recuperate.

Liverpool's principal owner, John W Henry, has offered Luis Suárez use of his private jet in order to keep the Uruguay international as fresh as possible for Saturday's Merseyside derby against Everton.
Suárez is involved in a World Cup play-off against Jordan in Montevideo on Wednesday, with Uruguay leading 5-0 from the first leg, and would not be home on Merseyside until Thursday night at the earliest should he travel back by scheduled flights.
The derby kicks off at 12.45pm at Goodison Park and the Liverpool manager, Brendan Rodgers, is anxious to avoid any travel issues with Suárez as he seeks a win that would establish a six-point lead over Everton. That has prompted the club's billionaire owner Henry to offer Suárez a direct return to Liverpool on his private jet.

God, we really are fellating the crap out of Suarez aren't we? Nice gesture by JWH though, but I bet he's making Luis pay for half the fuel and a KFC at Newport Pagnell.

Suarez will get inflight massage and spa with gym work out with a personal trainer/physio no doubt all the way from Uruguay!

I think both sides will be a bit more twitty twatty than tippy tappy this weekend.

I dare say the side that provides the right balance between the two will be more likely to take the points.

Everton have gone a bit off the boil in their last few games have they not? Obviously the derby is still a tricky game, but we should have a full squad to pick from.

I'm glad our lads are playing internationals, by the derby they would've had a fortnight without match practice otherwise. They need activity to maintain touch and fitness. They've still got more than 3 days post international to recover anyway.

Except our most important player .... who also has to navigate a trip from the other side of the globe on top of having a day less to recover. He shouldn't need to even start TBH, 5-0 with a home match to come FFS.
