So we came out with no urgency (again) and have looked hopelessly open and exposed in midfield and defence all game long. Is it the players failing to do what is expected of them or is it the manager's tactics?

I'd argue we came out all guns blazing, we just didn't look to back it up by pressing once we lost possession, we were too busy looking to make runs upfield & no one was trying to win it back so we could do so.
 
Sturridge got subbed the last time he did tried some "hattrick selfishness" stuff. Not sure we can afford to do that again today.

Only a few of the players, the others have been ponderous.

What you described is actually what I meant about urgency; not just our attacking threat, but everywhere on the pitch doing what you said; pressing and winning it back.

I'm not sure he could see suarez or thought he could get the pass of tbh. Either way, as I said, a selfish striker isn't necessarily a bad thing, especially one with his strike rate.
