Everyone understands what you're saying dude, but we can't make Sturridge & his contract vanish, nor make his injuries disappear, so I don't get what your fucking point is.

Difficult to argue with 2 winning goals in the past 2 games, but noBenteke would obv imply a better striker on the side. Better strikers =more goals.

If he is just off form a little & starts to knock a couple of the more obvious chances he's been missing in then we'd look even better.
When your striker is scoring goals it's hard to argue he should be replaced, & we're not exactly blessed with alternatives.

It's great he's scored to win us two games. But he's still not very good.

Another one v one ? - the one against Leicester was a one v zero - that's right an empty goal. Odds were he would miss that one v one tonight.
Apart from the keeper being in the way, it was definitely an empty net.
If you include the one v none though, that's about four or five he's missed.
I daresay he's scored a fair few in the past looking at his stats, so I assume it's just a mental block.
I really hate watching him play sometimes, but he's scored the winner in three 1-0 wins this season and got a goal in what should have been another (Southampton). He won us a game in Europa League and put the game to bed against Chelsea, so he's doing alright.
Benteke was always a streaky player - it was one of the reasons why I and so many others were sceptical about signing him. If he's scoring winners even in an "off" spell, though, I'm happy for Klopp to take as much time as he wants to work with the guy and see if he can improve him.
I suspect there's a couple of reasons many people are critical, we've been utterly spoiled with strikers forever more, especially despite our relative status. It's also obvious that a more prolific striker would have had a field day in the last few games & it would have effected our confidence for the better too.
