'STERLING NOT FOR SALE'
Sky Sports reporter Vinny O’Connor says Liverpool have ‘no intention’ of selling Raheem Sterling to Manchester United.
He also told Sky Sports News HQ that Liverpool’s position has not changed and the winger is not for sale.

When he goes, he will reserve for himself a special place in my footballing hell. His departure will take him above (or below depending on your perspective) Mcmanaman, Owen and Torres.

He's good mates with Chamberlain isn't he, probably explains alot. Fuck him, he'd just be another half decent quick attacker there to add to the other 50 they've got.

I'm not even arsed if he goes to the mancs. Football is a joke and Sterling and his agent epitomises it. I don't understand why I even vaguely give a fuck about any of it any more. I mean if you'd never heard of footy before and were introduced to what we have now, is there any chance on earth you'd get into it? No fucking way for me. It's awful.

Indeed. That's why I'm pretty much not arsed that Luke doesn't like it, cos I don't think I should, but can't help it.

The fact that almost every kid in his school was wearing a Barca or Real shirt when they had a charity footy shirt day at his school the other week summed it up for me. They just see it for what it is as a 'franchise' or product, & don't have any real emotional attachment.

I'd probably view it the way people view Wrestling, one big bullshit, corrupt charade,

Shirts? You never saw nowt like that back when I were a lad. We didn't have boots, a pitch, a piece of hard concrete - we didn't even have a ball. Once a week, if we were lucky, we were allowed to sit on floor and imagine us playing football. That were sports day, that. And even though we only imagined game, we still ended up getting relegated.

I think FIFA (the game) has alot to do with that too, my lad and his mates walk round in Dortmund and Barca kits coz they know about the players and build teams on the game to buy the top players in Europe. Theres no way when I was 10 I would have known about players similar to Reus, etc.

Yeah, it defo does.

It's a combination of things though, the expense of going the match means few kids go anymore, so they don't get emotionally attached, & even when they do it's hardly the same experience that bonded you to the people around you & the players, it's more like going to a concert at a soulless arena now.

Yep, my boy is always going on about random players from the Bundesliga and Zenith St Petersburg that I'm only vaguely familiar about, while claiming that so-and-so is garbage. Thankfully I still beat him at the game most of the time.

The first time I took our Cal to Anfield, he sat through the first half asking how long was left, then spent the second half playing on his DS.

You've been reading James Milner's autobiography.

Back in the 70's there was nothing like being chased down a road on an away match day with your scarf tied to your wrist, shit long haircut blowing in the wind, in the full knowledge that if you got caught you'd get your head kicked in. The only thing worse was some div shouting "stand and fight", then you had to stop and were sure to get your head kicked in. Enforced bonding, strength in numbers etc

Much more of an adrenaline rush than a gaming console.
