Sterling to Tell Rodgers he wants to leave this summer

If Rodgers stays as seems likely now then Sterling will be sold because he will undermine his authority.

I'm not sure it will be for that reason. If a player takes on a manager and gets his way, that surely undermines him rather more than trying to and ending up smacked down by the owners. At a time when Rodgers really needs every help in looking like a legitimate manager of LFC, he can do without one player putting a marker down for every other player and agent to copy.

Walcott has about an 8 match purple patch each season, where he bangs them in and reminds everyone what a great player he can be, right before breaking down with injury over the Summer, coming back for a short stint at the start of the following season, before getting a lengthy injury that puts him out until after Christmas, which then becomes around Easter. Repeat.

Good player, horrendous injury record. So it's pretty pointless. There's no point valuing him at X amount now, when in a month or two he can just as easily be a wash out for the coming season.

Sign Walcott and pray that his injuries don't sync up with Sturridge's like a couple of girly flatmates with their periods of monthly uncleanliness.

Walcott is boyhood liverpool fan... ?

I'd consider him.. I think he is a great footballer.... but because of injuries.. we would be stretched to ever have Studge and Walcott playing in the same game next season..

Was, mate (like so many who crop up on our radar, strangely enough).

Do not want. I might have considered it if he had settled to the fact that he's not going to play regularly as a CF. Without that I don't think he'll ever fully realise his potential, even if his fitness issues were to be resolved.

He's a big Liverpool fan, hence the continuous links throughout his career. He's a really really good player, but his injury record makes it pointless. We'd take him as part of a deal that would value him higher than his real worth. We really shouldn't pay something like £20m for someone with that kind of history, so why take it as part of a package for losing one of our players?

Going into a new season with Walcott and Sturridge in the same squad would be worrying enough. Would they even do a full season between them?? Walcott has averaged 19.5 games in all comps over the last 2 seasons and Studge has averaged 25 (granted the seasons before that Walcott was fairly constant and Studge wasn't really getting too much game time except under AVB and then at Bolton). The two of them flying fit though is a completely different story.

Walcott is a worthless player. Who gives two shits about what he does in his 15 games a year? The 20+ games per season that he is out with his hamstrings shredded makes him a completely irrelevant option as a professional footballer.

Rafa do us a favour and take this money grabbing bellend off our hands, he'll only last 12 months in Spain any how's.

So now Raheem has let in be known he fancies a move to Man Utd and is open to the idea of working with LVG.

That's not designed to pour more oil on the fire....

It's to be expected with Aidy Ward advising him. Ward will know that there is little prospect of business between the two clubs so leaking this can only be to irritate and agitate.

I'd say Ward is actively harming Sterling's career prospects at this rate. He gets more venal with each passing week. I've no doubt Sterling will get his move eventually but it'll be on the clubs terms and I doubt it will be to an English club.
