27 - Number of chances created by Stewart Downing this season (0 Assists), Compared to 18 by Ashley Young (5 Assists).
I think this is telling ... btw, anyone notice how average Ashley Young has been since his start to his Manure career?
Yup he's been crap.
United have been crap as it goes.

It's odd - are they on the down curve? or is this the 'regular' blip they have before they go on their run? If Carroll/Suarez had been 'on form' this year wrt scoring goals, Downing would be talked about as a much better player than he is now. I'd still take Young but Downing hasn't been that bad ...
I dunno. I think they have lacked a goalscorer to be honest. Rooney is on one of his loooooong non goal getting periods. It'll end in tears though (for me) it always fucking does.

Charlie Adam has been dribbled past 20 times this season in the league, More than any other Liverpool player.

Only Wigan (8%) have converted a lower percentage of shots into goals than Liverpool this season (9%).

Players who hit the woodwork for Liverpool this season: Downing(3), Suarez(2), Carroll(2), Henderson, Adam, Kuyt, Kelly, Skrtel.

stewart downing, 20 chances and no assists. either our finishing is rubbish or his service is rubbish.
I'd think its more of the formal than the latter?

Chances Created

Assists plus the final pass or pass-cum-shot leading to the recipient of the ball having an attempt at goal without scoring.

Got this from article regarding Bent having the least touches of all PL players and how he's starved of service. Think Ba's stats makes for interesting reading. Pretty impressive for someone with his no. of goals. Basically, he just finishes, leaving creation of chances mainly to others. Not advocating signing him but if we have a sort of player like this alongside Suarez who creates so much (obviously including his own's), we would be banging in goals left right centre.

Fewest touches per game this season

T = touches, MP = minutes played, TPG = touches per game

Only Van Persie (64) has more shot attempts than Luis Suarez (62) this season, but Suarez trails Van Persie by 10 in the goals category.

Van Persie 's 14 goals this season are a BPL best, and he has five matches remaining in 2011 to set a prestigious record. Only Alan Shearer (36 in 1994, 0.86 goals per game) and Thierry Henry (34 in 2004, 0.87 goals per game) have scored more Premier League goals in a calendar year than Van Persie's 32 in 2011 (1.03 goals per game).

Spurs' 11-match run without a loss coincides with the arrival of Emmanuel Adebayor, who is averaging more than a point per contest (seven goals, five assists in 11 matches).

Daniel Sturridge has seven league goals for Chelsea this season. Drogba, Fernando Torres, and Nicolas Anelka have combined for five

Why the fuck don't city recall him?

He is seriously strengthening the only rivals they have at the moment?

how fucking funny would it be if spurs won the title with city coming second and ade being the league top scorer? OPPS!!

Probably Man City were too confident of themselves to brand Spurs as a fellow title challenger? Remember reading that their hope was to strengthen Spurs to take points of other challengers while giving him a platform to attract suitors for permanent deal. Read elsewhere that Spurs have option to sign him at the end of the season too. Might be another reason why - esp. since his wages are astronomic to attract too many realistic bidders.

Liverpool FC's chance conversion vs. QPR: 4%
