Liverpool were the only team to convert fewer than 10% of their shots into goals this season. If all shots were goals, Liverpool would have finished third, behind Chelsea and Manchester City.

Liverpool's Stewart Downing had 72 shots without scoring (more than any other player) and created 55 chances without supplying an assist (more than any other player) in the Premier League. He also took one penalty and hit the woodwork five times.

Liverpool’s total of 52 points is their worst ever in the Premier League.

Liverpool are the only top-flight team to have lost every away game they have fallen behind in this season (10 in total).

This season was the first in history when 3 of the football league founders were relegated
Bolton
Blackburn
Wolves

That's grim really, especially considering everyone wants rid of Dirk & Maxi, Bellamy only plays every couple of decades, Skrtel is a defender, Gerrard is 'finished'. Thank God for own goals.

I'm not a massive fan of Maxi but, really, playing Downing ahead of him all season has been shocking.

He must have given that a real belt.

But perhaps the greatest unsing hero for 2011/12 was Charlie Adam, whose creativity only became apparent when he suffered a season ending knee injury in March.
Despite missing 11 matches, Adam ended the season with more assists than any other Reds player – 11 assists placing him just outside the Premier League’s top 10 creators, and only three came from set-piece deliveries.

Its incredible.

How can we be so poor at scouting when they gets it spot on nearly every time? Its frustrating
Are labour laws a bit more restrictive in the UK which prevents teams picking up players form outside the EU at a bargain price?

There is the work permit issue, but other countries manage simple ideas like buy them, then loan them out to a country in the EU with more lenient laws, with a view to demonstrate their talent.

It is not as if Premiership clubs haven't brought in players like Porto do and made a orofit on them.
Look at Wigan with Valencia and Palacios

I know, but it always seems to be the foreign sides who pick up the absolutely ridiculous talents (normally from S. America, or eastern europe) for cheap, whereas with us it tends to be quite decent signings, whilst never being top drawer. Palacios.... is ok, but beast at wigan, Valencia is obviously talented but not in the same class as some of the wingers on the continent.

Its more the frustration i get than anything else i think.

Chelsea have spent 40 mill on two shitehouse fullbacks from Porto.

In Portugal you can sign as many Brazilian/Argentinian players that you want, no wonder they find some gems over there.

Portos scouts are fantastic though.

Their scouting network is so extensive. Hulk, for example, was signed from a 2nd Division Japanese club.

This I find ridiculous

I've never even heard of us linked to anyone in Japan, yet they're buying superstars
