That was a poor choice from Lallana, that was actually a superb chance after he turned his man if he hit it anywhere but where he did.
Yeah, he was fucking shitting himself doing that. He looked terrified!Did Mignolet just come off his line and win the ball?!?!?!
I don't give a shit tbh. Gerrard never liked playing there yet had his best performances (over a season) there too.
Players don't always like or know what's best for them, they're emotionally stunted so are basically kids in many ways & this is one area it often shows itself.
I partly agree. He had much better individual performances over seasons but that one helped the team grow immeasurably & he contributed more as a result (he wasn't trying to do three jobs at once). This isn't the place for that debate though, & I'm sure we've done it once or twice in the past anyway! While that description is often true, I don't think it actually applies to Milner. Besides, it's precisely because a lot of players are so immature that I wouldn't generally want to play them in positions they don't like for any length of time. Even Stevie was shifted back to the centre eventually (I don't really agree that his best season was that one out wide BTW - it was his best season's goal tally, but that's not the only criterion for a midfielder). Milner will play wide if asked, no bother - I'd just as soon we didn't ask him too often.
As long as I don't have to sarcastically type 'but we're winning the pressing' in 18 months time!great pressing.
I foresee me typing a lot of this for the rest of the season.
Lallana looks extremely willing to impress today.
