Are we able to shake a tough match out of the system, and turn this week around? We have a fantastic chance as Swansea has their eyes on the Cup Final. Hopefully Sturridge is back to help us in the attacking department and that we either play Suarez and Sturridge as a partnership instead of changing his position again. He has lost some killing touch after he was moved around the first time, and that Arsenal game when covering the left back for 60 minutes did not help.

Suarez was still scoring for fun when we changed his position. And he's still had shitloads of opportunities to score since he went off the boil. I don't think his starting position has anything to with it - he's just suffering from a dip in form. But I agree, we could really do with both him and Sturridge for this one. With Suarez misfiring, it's difficult to see where the goals will come from otherwise.

Playing out left meant a lot of tracking back, especially in the Arsenal game. He is fit enough to do it, but over a period I think it will effect his freshness and sharpness. Last season his dip in form lasted from the suspension and out the season. He plays a lot, even during the last two summers he has been playing football. It´s a tricky one, and luckily we now have Sturridge to offload him slightly. And I think it will do them both good to feel the burden shared by another guy up front anyway.

He tracks back all the time when he plays up top too, his game revolves around harassing the opposition.

The best possible team imo:

..........................................REINA......................................

JOHNSON.............CARRA.......AGGER...............ENRIQUE

.......................................LUCAS........................................

.........................GERRARD........HENDERSON...................

SUAREZ........................STURRIDGE..................DOWNING

Amazed that Borini didn't get at least some playing time last night, he really must be having a bad spell. If Allen should be re-picked the opposition in mind I'd playt him alongside Gerrard.

NOT as a DM for the love of football. Perhaps even resting Suarez and playing Gerrard out wide would be considered?

Allen's first poor game for us was the league cup match against Swansea. Before that everyone was raving about him. He hasnt had a good match since

Rodgers will absolutely hate losing against his old team, and he knows all kinds of unflattering comparisons will be made if his successor heads off to a cup final with another three points in his pocket, so I can't see him resting anyone on Sunday, even though if we bomb out of Europe next week he'll be facing three or so months of increasingly sceptical critiques. Borini and Sturridge know each other's game so maybe they could start with Suarez given a breather on the bench.

We definitely need to try something different, too many players are underperforming. They are the perfect side for giving us a difficult time too. Good in the air and they have Michu who will drop into the hole, which is the type of player we've struggled with all season as we don't have much positional sense or strength in that area of the pitch, it just allows them to pick us off at will.

----------------Reina------------------
-------Skrtel--Carra--Agger--------
Johnson----Hendo------Enrique-
---------Gerrard--Suarez----------
---Borini----------------Sturridge--

Swansea are a very difficult team to beat imho. Laudrup has them set up brilliantly and they are full of confidence, I can see us struggling to get a result..

Imho I detect another defeat, this and being knocked out of Europe maybe the final Nail in the Brendon Coffin..

In a way this is the perfect time to play swansea. They have a cup final next week. Can you really see them going for those 50/50's when there's a chance of injury? For a lot of them they know this could be the only cup final they ever play in so won't be wanting to take any risks. Go at them hard because you know we need at least 2 goals a game to stand a chance.

Haha. You are right there, and seeing us not winning any 50/50s the whole season, maybe we should call them 20/20s in this game?

There in a nutshell is how far we have fallen. Counting our blessings over it being a good time to play (fu**ing) Swansea City at Anfield because their minds will be on a Cup Final.

Insh'allah ... Mourinho in the Summer, and then we'll finish top 4 guaranteed. If not, we can fire him and try and get someone better for the long term.

Swap Suarez and Downing (I like Downing cutting in from the right) and that's about it.

Would like to see Coutinho get on for 20 mins or so.

Why would you play Lucas?

He's been rubbish every time
What are the alternatives? That's the only reason for me picking Lucas. I don't want Allen back there, and I don't think Henderson is the answer either.

So out of all the poor options right now, Lucas seems the best choice.

Joking aside, Mourinho would get this team beleiving in themsleves and the system.. we need a manager that can do that..

He can't even get one of the most expensively assembled teams in Europe believing in themselves and you think he'll do it with our dross? Come on, we're a one man team and that one man is leaving next year. He deserves better. We should bring back Roy.

Let's be honest. As vile as they are Moyes, O'Neill, Pulis, Allardyce, there's loads of them that would have this team playing with some bollocks.

Jose won the title at a canter last season.. beating arguably the best ever team to grace this planet and his track record speaks for itself. I fully expect him to get into the next round of the Champion League, the guy shits trophies..

As for Suarez.. I would be totally suprised if he stays too.. Only a rapid change in our fortunes would change that, otherwise the only way we would keep him is bring someone in who can make him beleive..

We should be building our team around Suarez.. we need someone who knows hows to exactly do that..

Have you watched Real Madrids merits under Jose? They have been good, very good. And survivng enough seasons to be granted an extention to your contract in that club must be a milestone for them. That has never happened there I think. Even Capello was fired after one title winning season, and that happened twice!
