Saw only the second half and the penalties; in that period, I thought Ki Sung-Yueng was arguably the best player on the pitch for Sunderland next to Johnson. Seemed comfortable with the ball, moved it well with a good mix of short and long passes, and had a good eye for where openings and teammates were. Swansea sent him out on loan and took Shelvey in his place instead; can't say I understand the thinking behind that. Granted, this is just off my impressions from one game.
Oh and he scored the best penalty of the miserable lot.
