Cunha could get a 5 match ban after yesterday which won't help them, and if he does I'm guessing some of the bigger suitors will scratch him off their lists.

At least we'll have to see less of those disastrous Turkey teeth.

Wolves should appoint Moyes on a 2 year deal, sign two new CBs and pray. It's probably their only chance of beating the drop.

May be too late for that now, especially now that half the squad and staff are fighting with each other.

Hard to believe but O'Neil was linked to the United job (and weakly to ours) not that long ago.

That would be smart but I reckon they'll go down ater getting zero first team players and Steve Cooper

Wolves are in talks with Al-Shabab manager Vitor Pereira to replace head coach Gary O'Neil, who was sacked by the club on Sunday.

The Premier League strugglers are looking for a swift appointment and the money they would have to pay as compensation to secure former Porto and Olympiakos boss Pereira, around £800,000, is not believed to be an issue.

Wolves have been assessing their options and have sounded other possible replacements, including ex-West Ham and Manchester United boss David Moyes.

But club sources have told BBC Sport that Pereira is the frontrunner for the job.

Pereira has been in charge at Al Shabab since February, finishing eighth in the Saudi Pro League last season. They currently sit sixth after seven wins from 13 games.

The 56-year-old Portuguese won two Primeira Liga titles with Porto in 2012 and 2013 and the Greek Super League with Olympiakos in 2015.

The Wolves squad are not due to return for training until Tuesday and Pereira could be in charge by then, with his first game Sunday's trip to Leicester if negotiations go as planned.

Pep deserves the sack at this point, objectively. We’ve had some adversity under Klopp, but Jurgen dealt better with it. Pep just gave up.

They're in such a bind now, having extended his contract. Could have reached a mutual decision to step down either during the season or after.

But now it will look poor if either side pulls the plug.

Pep will go on his terms, IMHO. I'll be amazed if it's even been considered. For all their ills, City are well operated and sensible.

McKenna was smart enough to accept the tactical adaptations needed to adapt to the PL, which is why they have a shot at beating the drop and sit seven point clear of Saints. Martin appears a decent and smart guy, but you can't come up to the PL trying to play out like pean-Barca with Championship players. It's a lesson that should never have been needed to be learned on the job, especially after what Burnley did last year. Maybe he's just going after the Bayern job for 25/26.

I dont think the extension for one more year means anything. Fully expect him to leave after this season.

I think it was just stop him going the end of last season. Talks happened towards the end of last season and he’s filling his coffers on oil money before going this season.

We all thought he couldn’t get sacked but at what point does his position become unworkable. What is it 1 win in 12 now? Surely a couple more defeats in the league and he would just walk.

No matter what, they won’t sack him. They could be top and they’d be smashed down 7 divisions.

considering they're net spend averages at about £26m per season over 5 years, they will buy themselves out of trouble in Jan. So I am expecting to spend about £250m in Jan and finish top 4

Players usually need the dog shagger's style drilling into them for a season before they're effective. They can spend what they like, it won't have a massive impact this year.

Plus if you’re the kind of top-drawer, transformational player they need, would you want to sign for this City team in January? The 130 verdict pending, a coach imploding and only committed for half the length of your contract? They’d have to throw crazy wages at someone to get them to sign.

Considering most players are mercenaries, I think they would. We need to be honest the 130 charges will not affect the Prem status, the UK Government will make sure of that. At best it will a points deduction and a financial penalty.
City has an MCO structure so will 1st look at Genoa and poach what they need there first, city will be strong after Jan

So what's the soonest we think Amorim could be sacked? Apparently he's had the worst start of any Utd manager since 1930.

Say if they lost another 5 on the bounce? Would they have to act? Or are we more looking at when they're seriously close to a relegation battle?

Funny enough, Sporting have already sacked (and replaced) his successor. What a mess all around.

I think it's generally been acknowledged that United will have to give a couple transfer windows to get him the players for his tactics.

But at the same time, it doesn't sound like they want to dip into the January sales - that they want him to use the rest of the season to assess the squad and improve players before making longer term transfer decisions in the summer.

I can't imagine they expected the teething pain to be this bad though. At a certain point he'll have to become more pragmatic, like Ten Haag did, or risk the sack.

This could be wishful thinking but I'm not sure even two windows will be enough. The rot in that dressing-room runs very deep indeed and the whole squad needs major surgery, but they've p!$$ed so much money up the wall over recent seasons that they may well not have pockets deep enough to get the necessary rebuild done in a couple of windows. The only way they might manage it is to do a fair bit of their shopping in the bargain basement, which is highly unlikely to get them to where they want to be.

Oh dear how sad never mind.
