Shame they didnt trust the process anymore. Ah well. The Utd fans have been bigging up INEOS and Ratcliffe all summer, but it ends with them having to pay more to get rid of ten Hag and buying 200 mill of players he wanted before eventually sacking him regardless.
Talk about well run club.

Southgate in would be a dream.

Surely Roy Keane in is the dream.

Keano as assistant To Ruud is the absolute dream for united fans. If it happens it signifies the power behind the throne is no more. Ratcliffe would be adored by the fans. Kind of like FSG appointing Kenny

600m spent with Tan Hag at the wheel. Surely the new rules prevent them from trying to buy their way out of the current situation too?

The BBC are saying Southgate has already ruled himself out Booooo

Attention will now turn to who might be on Manchester United's list to replace Erik ten Hag as manager :

  • Ruud van Nistelrooy
  • Gareth Southgate
  • Graham Potter
  • Thomas Frank
  • Simone Inzaghi
  • Kieran McKenna
  • Xavi
  • Zinedine Zidane
  • Massimiliano Allegri
  • Ruben Amorim
  • Julian Nagelsmann
  • Michael Carrick
  • Sergio Conceicao

The Hags signings :

2022-23 - £207.5m spent

  • Antony, Ajax £85m
  • Casemiro, Real Madrid £60m
  • Lisandro Martinez, Ajax £50m
  • Tyrell Malacia, Feyenoord £12.5m

2023-24 - £167m spent

  • Rasmus Hojlund, Atalanta £63m
  • Mason Mount, Chelsea £55m
  • Andre Onana, Inter Milan £45m
  • Altay Bayindir, Fenerbahce £4m

2024-25 - £189m spent

  • Leny Yoro, Lille £55m
  • Manuel Ugarte, Paris St-Germain £45m
  • Matthijs De Ligt, Bayern Munich £40m
  • Joshua Zirkzee, Bologna £37m
  • Noussair Mazraoui, Bayern Munich £12m
Total estimated by FootballTransfers.com for BBC Sport = £563.5m

I hope they don't get Potter or Frank because I quite like them as people. I'd be shocked if Zidane or Allegri joined the circus, and still mildly glad England signed up Tuchel when they did. He's the only one who has won big, coached at the highest level and managed in England.

It doesn't matter who they appoint; even in a best-case scenario, that squad is 3 years, or 6 windows, away from competing for anything big, and we all know it won't be that smooth or efficient. They're shite.

They've probably already got an agreement from someone; they've been talking to people for ages, but if they haven't then wow.

No-one will touch that job with a barge pole if they had any sense. And if anyone thinks FSG are cheapskates, this Ratcliffe wanker will take it to a new level.

Ten Hag proved not to be up to the job in the end, but I don't think any manager will be up to making that squad a successful one. There are few, if any, players in it who should be there if they want to start winning big again. Their recruitment's arguably been even worse than Everton's.

Long may it all continue.

Completely agree.

Ten Hag hasn't been good enough either tactically or as a motivator but the honest truth is that their squad is mostly shit and it will take another 500m to rebuild it. There aren't that many players they have who will be part of the squad when they eventually figure it out and start competing again.

Doesn't help on the goals-for side that Rashford has forgotten to, they've bought two young strikers who don't know how to, and the great bowl-headed hope Garnacho actually scores just 1 in 5.

Never mind that their backline is a who's-who of past-its and false hopes.

Anyways, this is all just too fun until they get their shit together.

Southgate would probably give them a short term boost as he'd play defensive, direct football that would suit most of their defenders. Then he would be claimed as their saviour by the media and fans and get a longer contract. Then slowly his defensive football would eat away at the fans, and they would be signing more and more players for that style of football. It would ruin them (even more) for years and years to come, and I'd eat that shit up with a massive spoon.

Any of the possession based managers would really struggle with that squad and they'd need a near total rebuild.

Hopefully Simeone isn't on their radar as he'd turn them into a snarling set of mad dog cunts and it might suit some of their current players a little more.

Amorim seems like the kind of character who would jump at the chance to coach United. Could be a good fit for them.

Seems as though there is something a bit off there. Not sure what it is but its enough that other clubs havent made an approach after initial talks.

Isn't he being linked with the Man City job? he would be mad to choose Man U over them,
Besides, didn't he make a point in claiming that he was flying to London for talks with West Ham while fluttering his eyelashes in our direction.
Sounds like a knob

Looks like Amorim is going to be confirmed. The sad thing is they seem to have thought this one through. He'll need to be a fucking wonder-coach to turn round that sinking ship.

If its true other interested clubs didnt like his attitude then hopefully it could all go to hell again. Is the Utd squad compatible for a 3-4-3 is also something to look at.

I think it was reported that one of the reasons why we dropped our interest was because he wanted full control of transfers,
That shouldn't work in the new Man u set up either but maybe they have abandoned that already,
