Run Lazar Run

This whole baggsying of players is getting out of hand.

Anyways, the thing I don't get about Markovic is that he often exhibits great technique yet continually seems to kick the ball too far ahead when he's trying to get going on a run. He needs to sort that shit out pronto... and start doing whatever Sterling has been doing in the gym for the last couple years. Then he'll be fine.

Definitely, on all points.

I also don't understand why he's so reluctant to take a shot so often & looks unprepared taking shots from distance.

Whilst watching him it became obvious that the reason he kicks it further ahead than maybe he should is the speed he gets up to, if the ball was kept closer then it'd mean more touches and need better control, so it's a technique issue. When he improves his close control at speed he'll no longer need to keep it so far in front of him.

He has great potential - that much has been obvious from the start. What's impressed me most is his intelligence - he makes some really clever decisions with the ball in the final third. It's why I made a Nedved projection as his ceiling some time ago. I also think that's going to be his best position long term - CAM.

Agree with keni though, he really needs to bulk up. I can't see him fulfilling that potential if he doesn't add a physical part to his game.

Rodgers:

“I had a chat with him a while ago about his aggression, and he got sent off in the next game!” he said. “But I want him to be aggressive with and without the ball.

He's different to what we have too, Sterling likes to take people on, Coutinho likes to dictate the play and thread passes through, Lallana likes to get wide and beyond the defenders, Lazer makes runs from deeper, doing alot of his work off the ball, he's not your typical winger, but he'll be useful on the counter attack and he makes clever, incisive runs from deep which will see him bag more and more goals as he develops.

Ha!
At least we know his heart's in it.

I really like the look of him. If he can adapt and use his brain well enough, he might not need to bulk up like some are suggesting and go the route of Silva and Modric.
