Rubbish Transfer Rumours

It's not just about proven goal scorers though- it's about proven goal scorers, that can plan in our system, have the right mentality, want to come to us and that we can afford.

It's not going to be a big list, is it?
I think we've got enough unproven planners for our system.

Top of the Kops: Could Lacazette move to Anfield?
Here are all the latest Reds stories from today's Sunday Mirror and Sunday People...
Mummy's boy

Teen Kop star Jordon Ibe is staying mum about his future – literally, writes Steve Bates in the Sunday People.
He said: “Liverpool want me to stay here and my mum and step-dad are sorting that out with the club. So hopefully everything will just get sorted by the end of the season because this is where I want to be.
“I don’t need an agent. I just think my parents can do the job. For me they are the best people to look after me and my future.
“I’ve never seen the need to have an agent. My concern was just playing football and if I needed help deciding contracts off the pitch, then I would always go to my parents.
“My family will always be number one to me because I trust them. It’s not that I’ve had a bad experience with agents. But I don’t see what they can do that my parents can’t do either.”
Hammers return

Glen Johnson is poised for a return to West Ham, writes Neil Moxley in the Sunday People.
The Hammers are understood to be in negotiations to bring the England international back to Upton Park.
Johnson, 30, began his career with the Eastenders before moving to Chelsea as the first signing of the Roman Abramovich era at Stamford Bridge.
Having spent the last six years with Liverpool, Johnson is out of contract in the summer with no prospect of being offered a new deal.
Carl Jenkinson has performed well for Sam Allardyce in the right-back slot this season but is poised to return to Arsenal at the end of the campaign. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger confirmed last week that he intends to keep Jenkinson.
Reds eye Dortmund star

Liverpool will push ahead with interest in Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – after missing out on Memphis Depay.
There was disappointment at Anfield when it was announced Depay had agreed to join United in a £25m deal but they will push on immediately with their hunt for new attacking options.
Dortmund’s 25-year-old frontman Aubameyang is a long-term target.
He has a terrific eye for goal and also great pace, which is a key trait the club are looking for.
Aubameyang has been on the Reds’ radar since he left French side Saint-Etienne in 2013, and Liverpool will now enquire into a potential fee for the Gabon international.

£20m bid for Lacazette?

Lacazette.jpg

The Sunday Express report Liverpool have placed a £20million bid for Lyon strikerAlexandre Lacazette.
Manchester United and PSG are also reportedly interested in the forward, who has scored 29 goals in 33 appearances this term.
The Reds are in the market for a striker after struggling to replace Luis Suarez.
If Lacazette does arrive, it will likely spell the end of Mario Balotelli's dismal spell on Merseyside.
Ayew talks up Liverpool move

Marseille midfielder Andre Ayew has talked up a potential move to Liverpool, according to the Metro.
"I have been with Marseille for years and they’re in my heart," he said.
"But when I was little and I was watching the Premiership I liked Liverpool and I have continued supporting them.
"It would be a dream (to play for Liverpool), but the dream is to play in the Premier League at the highest level."
In pictures - Liverpool's summer transfer targets:

I'd gladly pay £30-£35M on him, but I suspect he can do better than Liverpool should he wish to leave.

A year too late for the Lacazette move. Especially at that price. And if anybody else is in for him, such as Utd as the article suggests, he'll go to them.

Ayew is on a free, I think, and could be a solid squad option. But we have plenty of players in his position, and they're mostly better than him. He would be a good signing for a half decent Premiership team, though.

It's not too late.
It's about as realistic as it gets for us so sign the fucker up.
Before Ayre and Co arrive and try to lowball one of the best talents in Europe.
I can't be dealing of a summer fighting it out with Watford over the signing of Danny Ings.

There shouldn't be transfer rumours for LFC players, new players should be presented to the Press and public after the deal (that no-one knew about) is done.

Old school me. It's this endless rumour shit that drives up prices.

Drives up prices and sells papers/advertising.

It's almost like most of it is made up by people who work for the media and players agents.

And knobheads on Twitter.

Perhaps we should create fake rumours linking the club with really crappy, average players and then make it viral (MUST send to Sanderson too) all over the Internet to throw everyone off the real transfer trail.

You know - like what trolls do best.

Apparently, our scout was present for the Barcelona - Real Sociedad match to watch Inigo Martinez.

El Liverpool espió en el Camp Nou al central de la #RealSociedad Iñigo Martínez, uno de los fijos para David Moyes. #LFC

The funny thing about this rumour is that Sociedad had been linked with Ilori. I like to imagine that Moyes gave us a call to ask about our youngster and we asked him to make an offer and what his plans were. He gave us a number and told us he'd make a great pair with this lad, and we hung up and called our scouts. 🙂

Indeed. The old days were great. Unfortunately in these days of agents and social media it's unlikely we will ever get back to that.

Martinez is yet another left footed CB. Very good but a short arse.
Cant see that happening.

We'd have better luck starting fake rumours about good players. If we start rumours about crap players joining us, we might accidentally start a rumour about a player we are in negotiations to sign.

Agreed. Folk will sometimes say it shouldn't matter what side they play and maybe that's true in theory, but in practice it does matter, like it or not.

Italian media reporting that Lazio wants Borini and could pay up to 14 mill.

Now, if that happens its karma for all the shite transfers we've made.
I'd be happy with 7-8 mill, so everything over that is a bonus.

The liklihood of getting 20+ million for Borini and Aspas is even more minute than the odds of FFF wearing a "I Love Jesus" shirt, or peace breakout out in the Middle East

Yeah but would you trust the transfer committee to get it right on signing a replacement/s?

Who was the last manager, transfer committee or some combination of those two things whose signings generally impressed fans?
