Rafa speaks

But even Kenny accepted a payoff when he got the sack.
I don't think there's a single former player or manager that loves the club as much as him.
It's just business.
Plus let's not forget the money Rafa donated to the HFSG from the severance package.

Ah it was only 90K though JM 😉

Ged doesn't pretend that he's obsessed with us, the way Rafa does. And, for that reason, amoung others, I firmly belive that he's more "one of us" than Rafa ever was.

And I say again, it's not nonsense. You just disagree. The facts that I have presented are verified. We have come to different conclusions regarding them...

GH - whose love for the club I don't doubt for a minute - didn't bring his family back to Merseyside when he left his next job. GH didn't donate a slice of *his* payout to the HJC. Why would Rafa bother "pretending" about his attachment to the club if it weren't real?

We really are going to have to agree to differ on this one.

So seeing as we are in need of a bit of cash, what's stopping you from donating a year's worth of your salary to the club now?
Cause that's the same situation...

Did you actually read what I wrote..? I said in his situation, I'd have behaved differently. I'm currently unemployed. So, as you can see, it's not at all the same situation. But, I think that you knew that before I replied...

I'm done, lads. We've done this to death... We'll never agree. I could go on all day about why so much of the above is folly, but there's no point. Suffice to say, I feel that many have been duped by a very, very shrewd operator.

All I can say is QUIFFER

Rafa's unemployed too. I bet he doesn't regret taking the 6m...
But anyway the situation is the same. He was entitled to the 6m. So asking him not to take it is like telling him to give it away.
I know he's probably hella rich compared to us but 6m is still a year's salary. We aren't talking about the price of a season ticket here....

We're talking about a man who was ALREADY a millionaire 25 times over going immediately to another $20m+ contract. Please stop pretending that it's the same situation.

Your brother owes you $500. He's smashed. Doesn't have it. You don't need it. You're swimming in cash. But you are entitled to it. He does owe it to you, after all. You love your brother, right? What do you do? I know what I would do...

Phone mum?

Whaddapie has a point that a man already rich doesn't essentially need that money but others also have an equally pertinent point that Rafa does have an affinity for the club (he does) - it's just he's not as much of a fanatic on the club as the majority of LFC fans.

You're right, Derek, it isn't the same situation. If the club had been *that* smashed Rafa wouldn't have got his money. Besides, as others have pointed out, if he *had* renounced the payment it would have been trousered by the two cowboys (or, more to the point, their creditors). It simply would not have helped the club in any shape or form.

Love ya, JJ, but that's beside the point...

I thought you were done?

I remember when Rafa was still our manager and only a few brave souls on here had the courage to stand up for him. Now that that battle is a long time over with and it's safe to come out, it seems that most of the site always loved him.

COWARDS.

Oi, change your name back to what it was!

So one lie wasn't enough i take it?
You are one sad man even questioning the money he gave to Hillsborough.

What are you talking about..? Where did I lie?

He'd spent five years with us at approx. $5m a year and before that he'd been already paid millions over several seasons with Vallencia. It was reported that he signed a four year, $6m a year deal with Inter. Where's the lie?

And where did I question the money that he gave to the Hillsborough foundation? If you re-read it, you'll see that I corrected the initial poster as to the correct amount.

Welcome to the site.
