Premature reports that Origi's coming early...

So says that Jay fellow...

No backtrack from Pearce then so far...he seemed pretty sure Origi was coming?

Jay actually has a source this time rather than whispers. Unfortunately when you click on it, it looks worse than caught offside. An English site specialising in French footy breaking a story, hmmmmmmm.

Jay blocked me from twitter for commenting that he posted a tory photo. Touchy bell end.

He's a massive cunt. As Cloggy says, he offers to "meet up" with people who disagree.
His discussions with Di Marzio were also cringeworthy.

Gets stuff right though, so must have a decent connection somewhere.

@pjoyceexpress: Divock Origi set to remain at Lille for rest of season as Brendan Rodgers backs his Liverpool squad.

Wrong decision if so. No question I would prefer Origi to Borini as Sturridge's sub/replacement.

Hell, if we're not buying anyone, I would bring back Aspas.

In the short term yes, but in terms of Origi's development its best he stays abroad, far too much world be expected of him too soon here. Hopefully Sturridge and Sterling will be enough for us.

@TonyBarretTimes: Liverpool now unlikely to recall Divock Origi from Lille with Brendan Rodgers ready to back the players already at his disposal.

I'm not sure staying at Lille is so good for his development at this point.

As for pressure, there is an argument to be made that January buys have LESS pressure to produce – see Coutinho and Sturridge's adaptation vs this season's summer signings. Or Aspas – fans were watching him score goals for the whole pre-season and building up expectations and then he couldn't produce immediately and was written off after 4 months. Whereas a January signing will always have an excuse that they didn't have a pre-season to settle with the new team, so expectations of fans are a bit lower.

If we don't buy anyone, there will still be pressure, but it will fall on the shoulders Sturridge to get back to fitness and start scoring, and on Balotelli, Borini and Lambert. I'd rather put pressure on somebody who has confidence and talent to deal with it.

Yes, reports of him being shoved out wide aren't encouraging, but he'll be end too much pressure here imo, damned if you do, damned if you don't I suppose.

Borini will leave us next year for 19 million after his 15 goals in the 2nd half propel us to 3rd place.

Liverpool FC shelve Divock Origi January deal plans
Liverpool have change of heart over striker as Brendan Rodgers puts faith in players already at club

Divock Origi warms up for Belgium
Liverpool FC are set to shelve plans to bring Divock Origi to Anfield this month.
The ECHO revealed a fortnight ago that the Reds were locked in talks with Lille as they sought to reach an agreement over the young Belgian striker.
Liverpool signed Origi in a £10million deal last summer but only on the promise he would spend this season on loan in France.

With Origi enduring a difficult time at Lille and Liverpool in need of more firepower, the Reds were prepared to pay a premium of around £3million to secure his services six months earlier than planned.
However, there has now been a change of heart and Brendan Rodgers is prepared to leave Origi at Lille until the summer.
The manager believes Liverpool have sufficient attacking options to help them achieve their target of a Champions League spot.
Daniel Sturridge is close to a comeback after five months out through injury, while Raheem Sterling is refreshed after being granted a two-week winter break and exciting youngster Jordon Ibe returned to the club last week following his loan spell at Derby County.
Liverpool have also been swayed by the determination of Fabio Borini and Mario Balotelli to remain at Anfield.
Both Italian strikers had been linked with a move away from Liverpool this month but they have indicated their desire to stay and fight for a place.
Borini scored his first goal for the club since April 2013 in Saturday's 2-0 win at Aston Villa.
Rickie Lambert also netted in a triumph which extended the Reds' unbeaten run to eight games. Crystal Palace made an approach for the big frontman earlier this month but Rodgers has no intention of selling him.
Origi, who has been hampered by injury in recent weeks, has scored four goals in 26 appearances for Lille this season.

'swayed by the determination of Borini and Balotelli'

I read that as unable to offload either
