Pre-match thread: Liverpool vs Newcastle

Of course our defence will be better, but it's not going to solve the problems we have up front, its not going to solve our lack of goals from midfield, it's not going to stop our sterile posession against a low block. I think this team has peaked and without serious changes we are not doing anything of note next year.

We do need additions and changes. What I take issue with is the "serious changes" bit. The defence being back in one piece, and Fabs' consequent return to where he really belongs, will allow the midfield to play on the front foot again and the front three to benefit accordingly. Sterility against the low block was a problem even last season at times, but I think the signing of Thiago was primarily intended to address it and we'll be in a far better position to do so with the rest of the line-up slotting into place as originally envisaged.

My fear is the spine of the team is now 29/30 and some of our key players either look shattered or have serious question marks over their ongoing fitness.

I don't think they have another 90+ point season in the.

If West Ham and Chelsea draw then the there's still hope, but you would have to be extremely optimistic to have much belief in this side right now. They play with an arrogance they we're already 3-0 up when we can't finish for shit and extremely vulnerable at the back.

Essentially conceding twice in 4 minutes to this Newcastle side was inexcusable, unprofessional and simply shite. The players let Klopp down today big time, and I hope he gives them both barrels.

They're in their peak if you listen to the gobshites on here.

Buy A proper number 9 a natural goal scorer who sniffs the net in front of him and we could be back in business next year.

We look so much better when both thiago and Jota were on the pitch

Firmino needs fucking off to the bench , he's absolutely useless.
Likewise Gini, he also offers very little in matches like this.

Fab and AB were boss - the rest were meh

It is what it is now.... we have been scoring with wingers, and now ideally we need a fucking striker and have none.

Its knee jerk because the difference between Champions League and Europa is huge in money terms.

This team needs an overhaul.

No. Not really. Like City did not need one after last season losing by 20+ points. They only needed a center back and they got one.

Once the CBs come back, I would prioritize a strong replacement for the Ox/Jones/Shaq role. Jones is growing, but not yet consistent to be expected to change games on a weekly basis.

If we had consistent threat out of midfield, the forwards would get more time and space - which they actually had today and just fluffed their lines....over and over.

I thought Salahs effort levels in the last 10mins were absolutely disgraceful. Like, genuinely unprofessional and worthy of a manager intervention. It’s perverse that he throws a hissy fit everytime he gets subbed, and yet puts in that couldn’t-give-a-shit bollocks. He’ll be the first one saying “sorry folks, it’s a short career, I need CL football”

Klopp is such an easy, lazy target...

It's not his fault that our "world class" front three (four today) need 68 glaring chances to score one goal between them. That match should have been 4 or 5 - 0 within 35 minutes. Once that 2nd didn't go in relatively quickly, that last gasp equalizer was as predictable as the fucking sunrise.

It's not Klopp's fault - nor is it our 4th and 5th choice CB partnership's - that we'd struggle to score in a brothel with a fistful of hundreds.

Calmed down a bit now. It still grates more than most matches this season because we were so dominant. That said we were doubly unlucky to lose Phillips for these two games, no way he wouldn't have won the header vs Leeds and in this game it forced Fabinho back into the back four. Then I'm pretty sure the Willock 'goal' was going wide but took a wicked deflection off a great Fabinho block.

The Lady (Luck) is not for turning, she's fucking us every which way this season.

I'm so tired of this season.
Everything that could go wrong, bar Salah scoring, has basically gone wrong.
Goalie gone down? Check. Rough form? Check
3 CBs gone down? Check.
Good CB partnership - and key games it ends? Check.
Bset DM in football hast o play CB? Check.
Our captain injured for large portions and has to play CB? Check.
Gini being shit most of the season and wanting a ton of money? Check.
CuJo breaking out and then suddenly, cannot start? Check.
VAR? LOL
Thiago can't get healthy and then plays for a weaker team? Check.
Mane can't score anymore? Check.
Bobby continuing down the path of being average at best? Check.
Jota starting off great and then being out for a long period when we needed him most? Check.
ESL? Check

What else can go wrong?

Shitty winning the champions league and the scum europa.

Is it any coincidence that Minamino was in DONAVANs (sic) profile pic and got sacked off, and now Mane is.... and it’s clear to everyone how that is going?

If we were in the 1700s I feel like that’s more than enough evidence to drown him in the 6CM village pond. If he goes for the mongy smiley face again, I’m taking that as agreement from him and permission for us to push ahead with punishment

Davies is never going to play for us is he?
