Coutinho *and* Sterling. We're obv.not going to play it cagey.

Good. Make them worry about us rather than the other way round.

That's a perfectly sensible suggestion IMHO, but it looks like Rodgers has decided that any weaknesses they have are at the back and that, therefore, attack will be the best form of defence against them. Lucas in for Coutinho might invite them on to us, which could be suicidal against their forwards.

Isn't the bib theory a load of rubbish? It's not really much of a theory if it's right some weeks and wrong others.

I do agree, however part of my thinks that we attack better in a diamond, probably because we have Suarez and Sturridge central, we do run the risk of leaving Flannagan horribly exposed to Navas and Zabaleta in that system though.

Well I seem to remember it making wrong predictions pretty frequently.

Apart from the common sense objection of Rodgers allowing official club photographers to take pictures of his line ups protected only by a very simple cypher.

It was spot on for the first few months, then it seemed to be wrong consistently, so nobody bothered with it. Seems it was "right" the last time, so could be right again, or might not. Who knows.

4-3-3 for me. I think we can't afford to have Henderson and Allen/Coutinho/Lucas trying to keep track of the very mobile pair of Nasri and Silva, in addition to helping the fullbacks defend against Zabaleta and Navas (if he plays). I'd rather have Sterling and Suarez/Sturridge on the sides helping our fullbacks, while also looking to exploit the gaps behind them when they come forward.

I hope Suarez tries to retire Demichelis. I want Martin to retreat to the dressing room after being a shown a red and literally hang up his boots in the away dressing room. Give his shirt to the kit man leaving the dressing room in silence, vowing never to play football again. Even the thought of playing again fills him with dread after the footballing massacre Suarez inflicted upon him.

Fuck it, same goes for Clichy the little chipmunk.

bib theory was going to be correct the last time around if Agger/Allen didn't get injured.

Bib theory this time around:

Mignolet, Johnson, Skrtel, Sakho, Flanagan, Gerrard, Henderson, Coutinho, Sterling, Suarez, Sturridge.

All wore yellow bibs.

The rest wore orange bibs.

I like that. We are not going to beat them by handing them the initiative and Coutinho will have more space to thread his magic passes through their high defensive line when they come forward, as they must.

Maybe it's a different 'bib lineup' each day. So depends on which day the photos were taken !

What line-up wouldn't be risky against the Citeh attack? IMO giving them plenty to worry about in their own half of the pitch will do more to prevent them getting on the front foot than a more defensively minded selection would.

While attack can be the best form of defense, especially for our team, we will need to be far more clinical than in the last couple games. Also, they need to have the ball, and City have the capability of stranding some of our attack and strategically fouling away some of our counter opportunities (though Chelsea take the cake at that).

Hi All

Is it just me or am I crazy in actually feeling confident about playing and winning against City and then Chelsea more so than playing the likes of Crystal Palace, and Norwich. I don't know why but I just feel we are going to roll them over big time this Sunday - perhaps it is because I am imaging the level of noise and support will equal that night in 2005 against Chelsea in that CL semi-final, and feel it will put the shits up the City players. I actually cannot wait for this game to come.

Regards,
MORON

Yup, we're going to get battered.

Hello MORON,

Thanks for the enquire, personally i think we have a very good chance against city if we play as well as we can. Everyone will need to give to give 110% , but we can do it. The game will be a classic and the atmosphere will be electric, and I too cannot wait.

Yours,
Mystic

I feel very similar to the way that I did against both United and Spurs...

I know that I should be cautious and that this team could cause us problems if they click, but I just have this overriding confidence that we're simply a better team at the moment and though I respect what they can do, I do not fear them, especially at Anfield. I'm nervous because of the magnitude of the game, not necessarily because the task is particularly daunting.
