He was completely useless in his cameo yesterday. Shame Danns wasn't on the bench as an option. This could be a good time for him to find form - but TBH we have Salah, Gakpo and Diaz in form at the moment. We need Jota or Nunez to step up to be a proper #9 option as Diaz was a bit lost yesterday and you could tell he was uncomfortable out of position in that messy game.

Fun fact… Jarell Quansah has played in as many League Cup games for Liverpool as Mo Salah!!! - 8 games.

Unsurprising fact… Darwin Nunez has played 2 more League Cup games than Mo Salah… and Mo has still managed to score more goals than him in the League Cup.

Slot won't want to go back to Anfield needing a big win, so I don't expect to see heavy rotation, that will be for AS so no need for it in this game and no player should be totally out for 2 games. However Gravy and Macca need rest and I'm not sure I'd start Jota but then Gakpo and Diaz need a decent break too.

Konate could give VvD a bit of a rest for the last 20 mins (though that will never happen) otherwise I'd keep Konate to play alongside Q against AS.

Chiesa comes on for the last 30 mins, he's been out too long to start.
