Really? I can't find that stat. According to TransferMarkt he hadn't missed one prior to joining us (going back to 2019 in Liga 2) :If you want a more maddening stat, Nunez took 7 penalties for Benfica and missed 3 of them.
It's not like he arrived a good rep for them.
Absolutely - and last night's fuck up was 100% Slot fault. It's fine, we've got Jones. Right @moron
To be honest it should never have reached penalties, the game as it turned out was Slots fault 100%. He new towards the end of last weeks game away that we needed 4 midfielders to compete, and there was no reason whatsoever to go gung-ho against them - absolutely none when we were already 1-0 up from the first tie. Much of what Slot did - just did not make sense to me yesterday.I don't think I'm ever going to understand why anyone would give the donkey the second pen
That’s rubbish. Yeah he’s contributed to 60% and carried us but no one said that. Did you miss the countless posts above which mentioned exactly described how Mo played in both ties?
Feels like you and few others wait for Mo to be shite and few others then pile in. Like I said multiple times, you can focus on one player and we can try do without Mo, but whom will we turn on when he is gone? It’s ok to admit sometimes, there are more than one player to fix regardless of whether he stays or goes. We have yet to replace any of the fab 3, no point pretending we can so let’s see if we can move the focus away.
Doesn’t change the fact, we got number of issues to fix and you can’t beat the best side we have played this year with 6 players not playing to expected levels.
It's not rubbish, mate. You are one of a group of people that I can't remember ever accepting that he's been shit in a game, without always following up with a "but.... ", and then reminding us, for the millionth time, that he's a legend. We all know how flippin' good he is. We don't need to hear it over and over, every flippin' time somebody dares to point out a poor performance.
Nobody has said that it's all his fault that we're out this morning, but he was completely ineffective in both matches against their LB, and he missed two glorious opportunities to make it 2-0 to us, last night. If he's our star player, and he gets all the glory when we win (and he does), it's only fair that when he doesn't deliver, that it be pointed out.
You say some on here wait for him to have a bad game, to jump on him... Maybe so. I don't. I discuss what I see, regardless of player or reputation. And then I wait for the usual band of blind apologists to charge in and tell me why it's blasphemy to even think such thoughts.
I see what you’re saying, but this is one tie against one particular player who seemed to have Salah dealt with. I’d rather look at his stats overall this season and what he’s delivered with regards to what we want of him. Goals and assists. He’s also our main outlet whenever we go direct. Maybe less so when gakpo is fit, but still.Heres a couple of stats for you. Across both legs, Salah lost possession of the ball 47 times and he won 3 of 23 duels with Mendes. #BallonDor
The lack of pace stuff about Salah is a bit OTT. Regressed yes, but still a pacey player. He has showed that this season.
A shoe in for ballonthefloorHeres a couple of stats for you. Across both legs, Salah lost possession of the ball 47 times and he won 3 of 23 duels with Mendes. #BallonDor
Yeah this Salah season seems to be something like when that girlfriend whose been getting a bit old and boring, moaning all the time, has suddenly started putting her finger up your bum as you're about to jizz because she wants you to say yes about buying her that massive kitchen extension she wants when you could literally buy four 18 year old sluts for an hour a day till you died instead.
Theres a big difference between having elite speed and not having it. No one thinks he's slow.
None who start. He's more complete player now then when he joined, so that kinda trumps the speed regression imho.
But how do you define elite speed? Who in our squad are in that category now?
I think you obviously are just jumping in soon as someone offers a different perspective. When he has bad games, it's been highlighted and pretty easy to see. Don't have a personal issue with your opinion. It's not rubbish, mate. It's not the different perspective that I jump on, mate... It's the nonsensically based one.I think you obviously are just jumping in soon as someone offers a different perspective. When he has bad games, it's been highlighted and pretty easy to see. Don't have a personal issue with your opinion.
Going on about same player every time is a bit tiresome. If you don't like someone's opinion then ignore it or move on, it's a forum. Just like the fact I find it tiresome same topics are triggered doesn't mean I can't say what I like.
You use we as a collective, and honestly, I don't care what you want to hear. If you want an echo chamber, suggest twitter.
If I want to say he has played rubbish, I will comment, and if I want to say how amazing he has been again, I will say, but what's your obsession with one player? Seriously, grow a wider perspective of a team game. We do have as mentioned other players across both legs who were ineffective.
I think we are effectively saying the same thing, it's just some of us go easier on Mo when things are bad because those good games out weight the bad games and are proportionate on response. I don't see it as deflection, it is realism and have a wider pespective is how I see it.It's not the different perspective that I jump on, mate... It's the nonsensically based one.
And I don't have an obsession with any one player... I just call out the bullshit that I see in here - He's the only reason that we win, according to some of you, but he's never even part of the reason we lose. There's always an excuse to deflect the obvious. Can't have it both ways. And, to think that the idiot leader of your merry band called ME a hypocrite!
The problem was a collective one (mostly forwards) of which he was one of the main culprits - not putting away our good chances. We'd be in the quarters if he had put away even one of chances he had over two legs - or made one of his wonderful assists yesterday but he messed those up too.Mo was ineffective across the two legs but I don't see him as the problem. The issue is we have no one else who can consistently score.
Jota has fallen off a cliff. Gakpo is hurting. And the other options aren't worth rehashing old ground over.
Mendes is a top fullback but it sure makes the job easy as a defender when you know the rest of the attackers aren't threats.
